I'm pretty sure the answer to that would be a big fat No since I don't have that service at all on my server.

According to the following web page, it should be Monitor.Name. Application Performance Monitor Administrator Guide : Alerting and Reporting : Creating Orion APM‑Specific Reports : SQL Syntax I tested it and it didn't work for me. However, I'm still at APM 3.5 so maybe this is new for APM 4.0+

Really? If that's the case, why is the following mentioned?Maybe have server #2 monitor the Orion services on server #1 and, in the event of any services failing, could start those services on server #2? It doesn't sound like the services on server #2 are running at the same time those on server #1 are running, unless I'm…

Yeah, I think you're both on the right track here. As you said below: We also own the Orion App monitor, so maybe that could be used to help this process somehow? Maybe have server #2 monitor the Orion services on server #1 and, in the event of any services failing, could start those services on server #2? * Just configure…

There should be a tab labelled Trigger Threshold in the Syslog Rule that should allow you to delay the trigger according to your second criteria.
-
I'm assuming that it really isn't trying to send this e-mail alert to "donotreply@nobody.com"?
-
APM should be working this way right now. That is, if you reconfigure a component for an application template that has already been assigned, it should not affect any other components of the same application template. Is it not working this way for you? Which version of APM are you running?
-
If you can't communicate via WMI to any of your servers, I'm not sure it's a problem with the pollers. Have you double-checked to make sure that the proper credentials are assigned to each each component of your application monitors?
-
Currently, this is not a feature of APM so it's not possible. There's been discussion of this in the past so SolarWinds has confirmed that this is on the roadmap. APM Application status related to nodes status on Web Adding Application Status to Map

* This might difficult. I don't think Orion maintains a count of the total interfaces for each node unless I'm missing something obvious. * What criteria do you have defined in Orion to indicate that devices are grouped together?
-
One method would be to check the existence of a registry key as specified by this post

If you perform a search on the terms "alert delta", you'll see several threads asking about variations of this same theme: alerting based the difference between the current value and previous value. Whether it's for traffic stats, volume usage or UnDP poller, you can definitely see the value of something like in numerous…

Have you searched the Content Exchange, specifically under Application Templates? There are definitely templates for Exchange and one for Citrix there.
-
What's wrong with the solution you're pursuing? If you adjust the width and remove the border, it should look just fine. I think it might be the only way to display multiple gauges from disparate nodes on a single page.
-
I don't have a Websense connector setup but assuming URL is one of fields that can be used in the criteria, this is definitely doable. All of the other conditions you specified, including the correlation time is possible within LEM.
-
For future reference, there actually is a forum for Orion Feature Requests. Albeit, a little hard to find but it certainly exists.
-
Good catch. I see this as well. BTW, you could've simply specified the "Solarwinds.logo.gif" as the header under the Web Console Settings. Without needing to delete the "Solarwinds.logo.jpg" file.
-
You mention that you want to "monitor" the log file as opposed to "collect" or "archive". Can you be more specific about what you're trying to accomplish?
-
Can you post the SQL for the 1-month window? It sounds like you simply need to expand the windows back to three months.
-
There is a similar thread that started a couple of months ago: Screenshot of your favorite Display in Orion

I don't think such a condition exists so I don't think it's possible. The request to prevent alerts from downstream devices triggering has been a long-standing request. It's on their roadmap so, one day, SolarWinds will fulfill this request.
-
Can you be more specific on what you're trying to monitor and under what conditions you'd like to receive alerts?
-
I don't know if this has changed in NPM 10 but there's no way to filter the Active Alerts resource. The closest thing to accomplishing what you want would be account limitations. Therefore, you'd limit the account to nodes/interfaces that are impacted by your specific alerts. Obviously, being account limitations, it'll…
-
Assuming you're using the NewDomainMember event, the account that made the change would be NewDomainMember.SourceAccount
-
Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible. I don't think you can attach anything to e-mail alerts unless I'm missing something.
-
Why not copy the SQL query and paste it into a new Advanced SQL report? Then, you can make the needed corrections and save the report.
-
Supposedly, you could adapt this VB script to accomplish this task. Just make sure to set the exit code accordingly and you should be set.
-
-Have NPM auto monitor and display only active interfaces This one is mostly for network devices. I monitor many large chassis switches with hundreds of ports each. Because you never know which might be in use or not I monitor them all active or otherwise. This spams up views with ports that are down and do not need to be…
-
I don't speak for SolarWinds but I'm sure one of the first questions they'll probably ask is what kind of "user experience monitor" are you looking for? What are you looking to monitor?
-
What string are you referring to? Couldn't you simply add a few more zeroes to the condition in the advanced alert?
