How do you guys use the old WPM 2.2 recording tool when running WPM 3.0? My 2.2 recorder app wants to force an upgrade to 3.0 immediately, if I skip the upgrade it doesn't open the 2.2 version. Opened a ticket with support but thought you guys might be quicker Thanks.

A huge thank you to Alexis Pasao from technical support who gave me some temp license keys to get me through the night!

goodzhere, did you ever get a resolution for your licensing errors/issues with Orion VMAN? Just seeing this problem crop up again ourselves. VMAN appliance (primary license, integration enabled) shows 318 sockets in use out of a licensed 480, VMAN Orion decided we are using all 480 sockets earlier this afternoon.....

Yes, I think his question is more to do with what happens once the node is marked as down (red), will NPM then revert to the 120 second polling interval, or does it stay in fast polling at 10 second intervals until the node comes back up. Based on the latency I've seen from when a node actually responds to when it shows…

Hi Serena, I downloaded the additional poller installer on the 10th of Jan: The version of the primary poller installer is: 1.2.5.143

superfly: I would try cancelling those jobs that started 558.6 minutes ago as a temp workaround at least.

I haven't had any issues with IPAM subnet scans on 4.6 yet....however I do have the assigned poller for these jobs showing up as opaque/unknown in Scan Job Status, given the problems many of you have had I'll consider myself fortunate, the scans themselves are completing as expected.

I just reboot the NTA Flow Storage DB server and things come back up, that way there's no disruption to the GUI/other Orion components which would happen if you go down the config wizard path.

I've noticed that my application templates seem to have chosen agent based polling without any direction on my part. Is this a known bug?

Related to that, we also have a resource to show us unresponsive volumes which we delete as needed during our morning checkouts: --begin code --Query from volumes and nodes tables with icons and links SELECT v.Caption as VolumeName,'/Orion/NetPerfMon/VolumeDetails.aspx?NetObject=V%3a' + ToString(v.volumeid) AS…

I have that behavior with NPM 11.5.3 - after creating a new alert, the page refreshes and no alerts are shown, only the Alert Manager and Action Manager tabs are displayed, going back to Admin and then Manage Alerts then brings up what I would normally expect to see there.

Hi Bart, What kind of RAM util are you seeing now?

Hi Serena, we tried switching over to Orion VMan polling, then discovered that the charge back feature was missing, and had to go back to the appliance. Edited to add: Re: Old VMAN features missing in Orion

Hi, yes the Flash warnings were related to Chrome, the resources are working ok in IE, so no real issue there.
-
I would wait, who knows what bugs will still remain/crop up after hotfix 4 is applied.

kman11 said: "ALTEREGO i see you mentioned that only 1% of the 1000 or so customers that have upgraded have issues. 1. Hopefully there is something that can be correlated to help isolate this issue. 2. I also hope that doesn't mean that this is being treated as less of an issue as this is having real world impact to those…

Hi, the third link you provided "Storage devices supported" doesn't seem to be valid? http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/srm/content/orionsrmagaddarray.htm

By default if you choose to schedule un-mangemen/muting it will prefill the start time to your current date/time. But if you are changing that...it shouldn't kick off straight away.

Are all your pollers in the same timezone?

Hi Anand, The easiest way to manage Orion services is to use the Orion Service Manager application. In my install it is found here, might be on a different drive depending on your environment: "D:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\StopNetPerfMon.exe" When upgrading, open the Orion Service Manager on each of your…

Had a suggestion for the Product Upgrade Advisor: Is it possible to include in the installed products sections SolarWinds Storage Manager and SolarWinds Virtualization Manager? Because it looks like those have to be upgraded to the latest available versions when you upgrade any of the Orion components to 2016.1, and it…

We have a resource called "Volumes not responding" on one of our SW views which allows us to identify and delete these kinds of volumes on a daily basis.

Latest update from support on my ticket: "This is slated to be fixed in the next release - I appreciate you asking. 12.01 is in RC right now and there's no solid release date for GA, but I will let you know."

Not sure if this would apply to you: Power Supply showing incorrectly in down state - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

It would be helpful if SW could include the specific release/version number for the off line updater in the filename - currently we have to download about 2 GB to then find out what version it actually is.

So to perhaps clarify on jdumkes question, in the announcement of Linux Orion agents this section is shown, are there actual specific "agent aware" templates that use the Linux Orion agent? Or is this section referring to the linux templates that has been released over the past years? SolarWinds Orion 2016.2 feature: Orion…

Thanks Mike, this is working correctly now.

A reboot of the poller allowed the Config Wizard to complete when I encountered this error 2 upgrades ago.

Sounds like he may want to group Orion user accounts, as far as I know that's only possible via AD and Windows based Orion accounts, and not the standalone local ones.

This showed up in the portal on the 3rd of October - all set:
