Just one query on this new release of VMAN 8.0 It will function the same way as how it was with the appliance? Meaning, it will discover the datastore, storage level and other components when plugins like NPM SAM and SRM are present. I am doing an evaluation so wanted to be sure before i start configuring the devices...

if this made available in VMAN then it would be perfect and not relying on different tools which reduce the cost also...

+1... Even we are doing it via MID tier concept. But if the feature is enabled to flow into the events table first then it would be great...

so this is going to be bundled in the ServiceDesk module right? I m just asking as other prods do have sonar discovery and recently launched versions also have network and application dependencies...

hi, I think there is already an alerting mechanism available when a Polling Engine has not updated the DB. We have an alert set up for 10 min.

5-10 would be very less, no one would invest in tool. should be between 25 to 50 at least.

would be very eager to try this once made available.. this is missing from quite a long time and much needed...

Just to provide some insight... recently for 1 of our customer we have enabled the monitoring of KVM hosts( RHEL) by having the snmp enabled on it so that we get all parameters like CPU, memory, file systems, network ports, etc... and for hardware monitoring we have taken iLO and enabled SNMP on that as well... But yes…

This would be helpful... please have this incorporated in future releases...
