It's showing up fine in the All nodes section of the Orion side, but in the virtualization tab, it's always the FQDN defined in the VMware host that is showed (except for mouse-over display, where the Orion node caption is being used). Are you monitoring using the iLOM or directly on the "OS side"? The iLOM, once configured properly, should provide a lot more information, and give you to more detail hardware information...

If this is something you would use frequently, you could have a script that would copy the SN to an unused field (ie: Comments, City or Department). Then search this field using NPM web interface.
