You need to checkout this documentation: Configuring WHD Discovery Engine (WMI) Settings (solarwinds.com)
-
Asset Discovery with timed sync and LDAP/AD client timed sync is currently available within WHD. What else do you mean?
-
that sound like a config issue - create global tech group and place everyone (or who every is needed) in it and align it those Request Types..
-
BTW once a ticket is viewed by a tech or client and then saved the status Type will be set. If it was NULL it will display the first Status Type in the list for the ticket, even though it set to NULL in the DB...
-
If you know the ticket numbers that are missing. Can you look in the DB to see what the Status Type ID is set to for that ticket? If it's NULL then It might be a bug, which has still not been fixed! You can also use the GUI to create a query will all display all tickets that have a NULL status type set.. These are my…

Hi, can you confirm that you/they only have 1 tab/browser window logged into the WHD. You can't view an asset page and ticket page at the same time. This can break the session information if you have two tabs/browsers using the same login. Also ensure that if you have a browser AD blocker that you excluded your WHD…
-
Yes you can - sort of... While you press the 'Save' or 'Save & Email' buttons, hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard, and the ticket will save and exit of out the ticket. You can also press the 'Save' or 'Save & Email' buttons, hold the ALT key on your keyboard, to automatically create a new ticket after it has been saved.
-
Move those emails out of your inbox to another mailbox folder. Confirm the changes within WHD. Then move the emails back into the main mailbox. Your emails will then be processed and turned into tickets. Processed emails will appear in the Deleted mailbox.
-
The send button next to each note will send just the note to all recipients for that ticket. You can't change the buttons at the bottom of the page, except modifying the labels file to remove the name or change the default to 'Save' rather than 'Save & Email'

I have the same issue and have submitted a support call with SW. 12.7.11 did not fix it..
-
Or upgrade to WHD 12.7.11
-
please try the following workaround: 1. Stop the WHD service 2. Navigate to: \bin\webapps\helpdesk\css\ 3. Make a backup copy of the SharedStyles.css file 4. Open the SharedStyles.css file 5. Update the text word-break:break-all} to word-wrap: break-word} 6. Save file (make sure you don't change the file type) 7. Restart…

backup the DB and the Web Helpdesk directory Some of these might help: Migrate Web Help Desk to a new server (solarwinds.com) How to configure WHD to backup an external database in WHD 12.7.8 HF1 and higher (solarwinds.com) Restoring WHD database backup on WHD 12.7.8 with PostgreSQL13 embedded database. You'll need something like Lansweeper to detect and report hardware/system changes.
-
c:\Program Files\WebHelpDesk\bin\webapps\helpdesk\css Whdstyle.css
-
Hardcoded - fix (data or parameters) in a program in such a way that they cannot be altered without modifying the program.
-
It's worth doing the WHD mail config changes in InPrivate / Cognito web browsing so you ensure you get the correct auth login, as I find that it sometimes is cached by the browser.
-
anyone tried this with WHD 12.7.10 HF 1 ?
-
I think they want to change the layout and CSS code of the client web portal. You can edit the CSS look in the CSS directory on your server, but the layout is hardcoded.
-
What I meant was that simply running a virgin installation on a virgin Windows Server 2022, it will not install unless you use a workaround. I don't believe that makes it Server 2022 compatible. The WHD installer needs to be upgraded and edited to cater for Windows 2022.
-
Nope Server 2022 still errors at installation - I tried it today
-
Just a warning WHD 12.7.10 release doesn't work with Windows Server 2022 either
-
Add the following parameter to the System Environment Variables: JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS= "-Dos.name=Windows Server 2016" (make sure and include the quotation marks as they are written in the Parameters value). This should resolve your issue. Then bring up a new administrator command prompt. Run the installer from there. After…

The only way would be to divide these units into departments making micro ldap groups Eg "Unit1-division2-department1" "Unit2-division3-department2" etc It would be an administrative nightmare but it could be done. You'll have to add your department administraters to every micro unit they cover
-
Make sure that she isn't configured as a client admin, as this can mask tickets views
-
That sounds like a ticket has been moved to different request type that doesn't have the custom field therefore normally custom fields are removed unless they have a value. Look in the history of the ticket for what happened to the ticket around that time. There is setup option to purge the contents of custom fields on…

I can't download this - I get the spinning circle...
-
best create a support call with Solarwinds and send them the logs. Looks like a DB or permissions issue.
-
I would enable debug for logs and then see what the logs say when it happens again.
-
There is a know issue where if you delete a Request Type that action rules using the 'any of' logic still try to process deleted Request Types. Therefore clear the entries for 'any of' save and then re-select you choices and then save again. Best to upgrade to the latest version too.
