I had the same thing going on. Mine started when I updated to 7.8.5, and applied the latest MS Patch bundle. Re-install the Beta-Alert engine, then re-bind the process with the configuration wizard; do not run the entire wizard, just the processes step. Thanks, P. B. quote:Originally posted by jneiberger Ugh. That's not good news. For some reason, I was under the impression that most of NPM was web-based. I try to minimize having to use remote console access products on Windows devices. It's slow and painful, and only one user at a time can be accessing it unless you use something like…

We forward Events as traps to Netcool's trapd probe and then into Remedy via the Netcool-Remedy Gateway. Should be similar with BMC Event Manager to Remedy. Modified the Detailed trap mib file to include additional details from the database. Thanks, P. B. Success requires three bones--wishbone, backbone and funnybone. Kobi…

Polling 7400 elements on a single Orion Server with DB on a seperate system. Using the Poller Tuner calculation I've adjusted the registry settings for 75 ICMP/sec and 100 SNMP/sec. The dual proc Orion system runs at a constant 40% CPU utilization. Expansion goal is to have dedicated Web host and second poller when we…

OK here goes. For the Beta Alert Engine. On the Trigger Condition Tab,set the following - Trigger this alert for any {Interface} that meets the following -- Trigger this alert when all the following apply --- Xmit Percent Utilizationis greater than 85{Interfaces, Current Traffic, Xmit Percent Utilization} Then adjust the…

Bharani, Are you trying to get an alert if utilization stays >85% for more than 24 hours? or if utilization reaches 85% during a 24hr period? The first scenario could be done with the Beta Alert Enginge which would be set to send an alert if the condition (utilization >85%) was sustained for 24 hours. I'm not sure how I…

Please forward your ideas to support@solarwinds.net While the folks at solarwinds do monitor the forum, I don't know how much of the ideas, wishes, wants actually get forwarded to the developers for consideration. Additionally, alerts engine can fire internal and external scripts so you might have an action, with service…

Do any of you have any thoughts on how to scale Orion so that it is still easy to use, it provides a nice NOC status screen, and can send out alerts in a manageable manner? Thanks! The toolset integration is an ActiveX extension. You can manage how IE sees the add-on from Tools/Internet Options/Programs. Click Manage Add-ons. You should see a list of programs IE has used / activly in use; find swtoolset.engine disable it. Restart IE, browse to Orion. you should be prompted to integrate the toolset.…

Ross, The ${NodeName} is the "Caption" of the device that can be changed with the Orion System Manager. There is a ${DNS} value which is determined by reverse lookup during discovery or there is ${SysName} which is the snmp configured system name or hostname. My suggestion is to configure the system name on your devices…

Janis, That was the fix. After spending most of an hour going through the install log with support we found that dll did not get registered. This is also a problem when installing the Remote Admin Pack Thanks, P. B. Success requires three bones--wishbone, backbone and funnybone. Kobi Yamada

I do something similar with monitoring of the server farm and the DMZ servers. I have created a "zone" record using the Custom Properites editor. I can then limit access based upon this record. Thanks, P. B. Success requires three bones--wishbone, backbone and funnybone. Kobi Yamada

Guod, This is an image map problem. I get around this by setting the scale on the URL not as a property of the map. orionserver/.../mapview.asp This example would display the map at 50% you can use this as an alternate url. Also, Please raise this issue with support, they were unable to recreate my problem; so this should…

You would check Admin status and Oper Status You can setup alerts in the Beta Alert Engine which would trigger based upon change of one or both of these status entires. Thanks, P. B. Success requires three bones--wishbone, backbone and funnybone. Kobi Yamada

quote:Originally posted by CCrew I think you need to be more specific on what you're trying to achieve.
