So, just to restate... say I create a Yes/No node property named "Houston" and set a list of ten nodes to True. I also create an account limitation by the same name. Then, I dynamically create a Group named Houston using the custom property in the query. If I understand correctly, it is normal functionality, for now, that…

No one? Seriously?

Can we make the production of a list of which addresses did not respond to ICMP and/or SNMP an official feature request please?
-
Still getting the same behavior after 10 hours. No links found. Should'nt it have updated using a manual Update Topology anyway? Can anyone else get ConnectNow to work with 10.7?
-
More bumping. This is a pretty high priority for me. Thanks. Anyone?

Thanks for the reply, ecklerwr1. Yes, Syslog may be a good way to go too. But, if I wanted to utilize the custom pollers that are already configured, can you answer my original questions above? I also noticed in testing the alert, that the alert message that is configured to insert the current value of the custom poller…

bump?

I think I expected that answer. Thank you. So, am I to understand that APM has NO ability to remote test applications, or is it just that you think SEUM is better?
-
Oh i know that you can re-add the tool. One has to do it every time one launches DB Manager. And, yes one can use the SQL management Studio. But, does that mean SW has decided to leave a broken tool in place?

Thanks marie. As of this moment, I have been on hold with support for 25 minutes. I have heard that other users are experiencing this. We are running 10.1.1. Is the issue addressed in version 10.1.2?

Thats what I was thinking, but I am not sure if the component response time is for the port 80 itself, or for the loading of the page.

Nice report Steven and great timing as I was thinking about how to construct the same report. Is there a way to add the ability to show a total element count for each polling engine into this same query?
-
Adatole's description of the way the Node Warning level and fast polling function is a little different than what I have always understood. From what I understand, if a node fails to respond to a poll, the Node Warning counter immediately starts and the node is fast polled every 10 seconds. If the node responds before the…

Really? No takers?

Thanks lag, but when I run this query I get the following error message in Report Writer: "SQL Error: Column 'Nodes.Caption' is invalid in the select list because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the Group By clause." Can you troubleshoot?

Ill try one more time. I have to say that in recent months, it takes longer on average to get anyone to bite on a post in this forum. Maybe its just my stupid questions. SolarWinds? Helpful users? Thank you.
-
Thank you. Please show me what you recommend for the query. I already have Region added as a custom property. So, what I would like to have is the nodes grouped by the Region with a count of nodes interfaces and volumes. Even better would be if I can see the nodes, interfaces (and even total elements) listed with a sum for…

I am still seeing the same behavior from this report after 7 days, but I will wait one more day to see if the values start to diversify. However, I was thinking about what you said, and it still does not make sense that the MIN, MAX, and AVG values should be the same. That would indicate that every polled value over the…

Is this available yet in the current version of IPAM? Is there a way to limit an IPAM user to only being able to manage a particular subnet or group of subnets?
-
Thanks, Brandon. I think I found one way to accomplish my goal for now. I can use a filter on an IPAM view resource. For instance, I can use the subnet.FriendlyName filter to limit the Top 10 Subnets by % IP Address Used resource to show only addresses in a certain group as defined on the Manage Subnets and IP Addresses…

I'll post another thing I think I have learned about groups and dependencies. Make sure your dependencies are correctly defined to match your actual network topology. If you don't, and Orion can find an alternate path to a child object that is down, the object will show as down rather than "unreachable" even if the defined…

Uh...shoot the client? No?
-
I understand that, but I think you are missing my point. I'm saying that the CLI login information is already asked for on the node's Edit Properties page. Why does it also need to be repeated on a Manage Device Templates page?
-
Andy, is it true that a node can be showing "up" or "warning" while interfaces are showing "unknown" due to the separate and probably overlapping polling schedules that NPM uses to poll for Node status and Interface status? In other words, if NPM polls for Interface status soon after the node is disconnected, NPM will not…

What if I only have one poller? What are the possible meanings for "new" and "Changed"?
-
So, it sounds like if you want to create a true custom OID poller, you still need to use the UnDP tool, correct?
-
Thanks. for that. Implied dependencies are a no brainer, but can you give an example of an explicit dependency involving applications or SLAs?
-
Yes, I will post one, but I really just need to know why the first field and the third field both require an OID be selected. I guess I'm not sure what that will result in. Can any other data types be entered in either of these fields?
-
If I may add a related question to this discussion please. What have you seen in situations where the SolarWinds server itself has been rebooted for whatever reason? Do you find your self receiving a flood of alerts on monitored elements?
-
That produced errors. Maybe it would help if I posted a picture of the custom SQl trigger that used to work: As i said, the Last SystemUpTimePollUtc data is now in the NodesStatistics table, but I cannot decide what the modified query should be, OR if I can even use it in the alert trigger. any further thoughts?
