Delgee, To clarify a detail with respect to the release of NPM 10.1, you will need to upgrade from NPM 9.1 -> NPM 9.5.1 -> NPM 10.1. Note: Orion installations that include EOC require a hotfix to upgrade to Orion NPM 10.1. The hotfix is found in your Customer Portal.

Mike, Provided that all your primary and additional polling engines are updated to the same version of NPM, the Failover Engine (FoE) upgrade will follow. FoE takes care of the duplication from primary to secondary servers, so you need only ensure that your primary NPM servers are upgraded. HTH, Andrew

Short answer: It shouldn't really matter. Longer answer: Though you should expect a clean upgrade to 10.0 from any 9.X version, you are safest upgrading 9.X -> 9.5.1 -> 10.0 -> 10.1.2, like the majority of SW customers. This is a well-worn upgrade path. NPM 9.5.1 provided a large number of important fixes to previous 9.X…

RLumsden, Do you have any other Orion modules (e.g. NTA, NCM, IPAM, IP SLA)? If not, it's a straight execution of the installer, as 10.1.3 upgrades to 10.2 directly. HTH,
-
adeese2, You are correct. If you have NPM installed with APM and NCM modules, all on the same server, you will use the same instance. It is possible to have multiple NPM servers, with associated modules, all using separate instances. It is not, however, currently possible to have multiple Orion servers, with installed…
