So, you have access to the SQL Server, but not the Orion server? If this is the case, you might be able to get someone to post the SQL query to create an existing or customized Orion report. Post what you need, and the community may be able to give you the SQL required to pull it from the db. HTH,

Stopping services manually is a belt-and-suspenders step. You should be OK either way. HTH, Andrew Pacetti SolarWinds Information Development

dtango2010, No, you won't be able to use the Hot Standby Engine with the evaluation version you would download from . The page has the latest version of NPM, and it is only compatible with the Orion Failover Engine. HTH,

SQL Express is limited to 4GB. See the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Overview.

Now that I've read your post correctly... You're right. If you haven't moved your primary Orion server, your reports should still be available. Please submit a technical support ticket so we can look at your current environment to track down the issue. If we are able to resolve it, could you post back here with the…

Warning: Simply moving the maps over, as indicated below, will not ensure that the icons in your maps will be correlated to any monitored objects in your new environment. There is really no way to maintain functionality without migrating your entire db. If you do not have that path, then you have not ever had Map Maker…

Let me ask Development on this one. There may be a limitation such that all transformed pollers must be polling the same node. I'll post back here. Thanks,

The SolarWinds MIB is the same for all SolarWinds products. They will install in different locations, but they are the same. See the readme that is packaged in the MIB archive for more information.

As said earlier, I can get a value from the mentioned OID when selecting Private MIB in the program MIB Walk, but when I try the same OID in UDP, UDP cannot find it at all. Dal, In this case, you should probably file a technical support ticket, so we can review your installation and get you going.

troiken, For basic information, I think you will find the following knowledge base articles helpful: * What object IDs (OIDs) does Orion NPM poll for volume information? What types of volume information does Orion NPM poll? * What CPU and memory utilization object IDs (OIDs) does Orion NPM poll? * What object IDs (OIDs)…

Chris, Depending on the specifics of a given installation, it may be possible to go directly from 9.1 to 10.0 without any concern. It is, however, generally safer to include the intermediate step of upgrading to 9.5.1 to ensure that all essential incremental updates, particularly with respect to the Orion database, are…

If you have both subnetted addresses and individual addresses, you may want to do two seperate discoveries. As for the spreadsheet, export it to text, replace all delimiters with line breaks (each IP address must be on its own line), and then copy-paste into a Bulk Upload discovery.

Yes. The section "Installing the Orion NCM Integration for NPM" in the SolarWinds Orion NCM Administrator Guide provides guidance.

Mike, The SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide should provide the information you need in the section, "Using an Orion Additional Web Server". HTH,

, can you assist?

No, I don't believe so. For each event, you'll need an alert to trigger.

Bharath, Are you currently on maintenance? If so, you should find a download of NPM 9.5.1 in your Customer Portal.

Yes, but you cannot edit multiple nodes and Select "Dynamic IP" .....this is a horrible pain when you want to discover 400 nodes and have to edit each, individually. Please, please, please fix this. Marked for PM review.

Dwyane, If you haven't gotten to play around with reports, I would encourage you to try to build a report reflecting all the info you want. You can then add your report to any web console view using the Report from Orion Report Writer resource. For more information about creating reports, see "Creating Reports" in the…

An APM standalone can use the same db server as your existing SolarWinds environment if and only if the standalone APM server is using a separate instance on that server. In this scenario, you would not be able to generate alert actions in the event of a db server failure. If you want to be able to monitor the state of the…

Is the Configure Hot Standby step of the section "Configuring a Hot Standby Engine" (i.e. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Monitor Polling Engines) not working for you? As an alternative, try to right-click the Hot Standby Engine, and then click Configure Hot Standby. If neither of these…

turbo79, Let me know if and how steps 11 and 12 of the section "Completing the Orion Configuration Wizard" in the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide do not address your concern: * If you need to specify a particular IP Address for the Orion NPM Web Console, provide the IP address of the host web server. Note:…

NPM does not provide that ability. EnergyWise scheduling (recurrence) is configured on the device itself. For more information, see: * Cisco EnergyWise Configuration Guides * Cisco EnergyWise IOS Configuration Guide, EnergyWise Version 2.7 * Configuring Recurrence HTH, Andrew
