i am not a network guy, but from the webconsole it states manageengine netflow analyzer 7 professional

hi andy, i got to know that the limit is 20000ms, is 7200ms is too high, what is the number that you would suggest? I tried 20000ms, the notifications seems to be stopped but since it was too high, I have revert back to 7200ms as what was set by my project team. thanks.
-
case is logged for weeks but no solutions, support was kinda 'unprofessional' as they said that there is nothing much that they could do and we're the first to have this problem....sigh.
-
sorry, it should be 1 exchange server utilized 300mb in the 6 hours time. we tested on one particular servers only.
-
wluther no, still getting the help from the SW support. 1gb of data sending out from DB to the poller in an hour, this is crazy.
-
@"shuth" that would be sufficient for me to do an upgrade, thanks for the info

Hi cahunt, Once I had this issue where the secondary polling server is shown as down at the Settings-->Polling Engines page but when I checked on the server itself, everything is up (services). What we would like is to know if it is possible to know if the secondary polling server is down and this is to be pick up by the…

it seems like the network team are using version 7

jeremy, yeah, i was thinking of that but the problem is, if i have an alert for a nodes down (unpingable) the log to file will kept logging to the same file, eg. if 2 server is down the same .txt file will have 2 of the alerts logged. but the pagegate will consider that as one sms eg. Site=network_team_False…
-
the email was fine but the sms, i figured out the way to do the filtering but for the alerts to work, it will need to generate a .txt file to a folder for the pagegate to do the filtering. but advance alerts does not generate txt...any ideas on this? thanks.

hi andy, i had set the trigger to 8 minutes but on the polling, we had set it to 7200ms, is this right? or should i configure the polling to have a longer period? eg. 48000ms? thanks
-
hi michal, that was what we were thinking as well but the problem is; someone might have missed this 'heartbeat' alerts. what i was thinking is to send an email every few hours through alerts as to inform that alerts module are up. when this got more, i believe ppl will start to ignore. i was thinking if there is anyway if…

wluther we're using the netflow from manage enginee, not the one found in orion. we have recently upgrade the orion npm to 11.0.1, ncm, sam and ipam, we did a 2 level upgrade. we have a primary server (web as well), a db server and 2 other secondary poller
-
ice we have disabled the trap services for some time, also the syslog, we did not configure anything there. so it should not be that problem
-
hi, if i mouse over the graph, it appears randomly. the cpu is monitored by snmp and it's a windows server.
-
Any help? Really out of ideas
-
maybe you can try to extend the polling time of the APM. from what i can see from the servers that we are monitoring, it only turns on when there is a polling job from the SW after that, it will stop and the cycles continue. i believe that this services only runs when it was triggered when there is a polling.
-
sometimes the problem could be the structure of the alerts. once i had this problem and we just simplify it and it came back. i think you can just make it into 2 conditions instead of 3 to simplify stuff.
-
try to restart the remote registry services and do a test, else check your perfmon if such counters exist; most probably your perfmon counters are corrupted, rebuilding the perfmon counter helps.
-
The result is disappointing with barely no help from solarwind support/development. After few weeks of no response, we had close the case and reduce the monitoring and add polling servers to few sites.
-
mcbridea, no, it did not solved the issue. i had tested on 2 servers with the same functions and locations. on the first server (A), i had put one of the downloaded template and one which is created by me. while on the second server (B), i had put two templates which i had created. Server A uses 1 exchange server template…
-
i had tried the downloaded template and also the ones that I had created, both having the same configurations but the downloaded ones are having more stuff. I had put the downloaded template on the same server, it seems like the utilzation is low........

all, anyone able to help this? how did you guys monitor the Exchange 2013 activesync?
-
we're running fully on a VM environment for the DB and SW servers. DB servers are resource hungry, so expect to put more CPU's and RAM. As for the web server (primary poller), put at least a 4 CPU and 8GB of RAM; irony is, when there is a lot of request, the IIS services would be the resource hogger.

After the upgrade, the Orion SQL server is transmitting 3-4 times the data. From the netflow, it was categorized as application, ms-sql-s, anyone are having this issue? Our secondary poller is situated in another site which is a real 'killer' to our bandwidth.
-
Hi, anyone facing this issue? the DB is growing and the SW support does not seems to be able to help at all.

Found the answer....great stuff http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1974/Certain+performance+counters+for+Orion+APM+Exchange+Server+2000+and+2003+template+do+not+work+properly
