This is been a frustration point for us as well. I've tried a few different sources I use when trying to determine uptime, sometimes asset inventory being accurate, sometimes core Orion. Nodes.lastboot (Local) AssetInventory_ServerInformationView.lastboot (UTC) I haven't found anything that is correct for all gear I ended…

Yep, that is the option on the OS side, thanks for the details. we are evaluating both paths and I understand the agent binding to an interface is not an option at this time. I suspected but needed to verify. thanks much!

Neverfail runs on these systems...tiertiary mode -> two systems are oddly "ghosted" and one is active. We are trying to figure out how to monitor the ghosted systems. each system has 3 interfaces on same subnet and does interesting things with local host route table.... "management" interface is able to talk to monitoring…

I am having this issue as well, and am about to apply the hotfix, but have a question aLTeReGo, my additional polling engines (4) do not have the exe file at all in the APM directory. Is this only run on the main engine?

seems to me the "lookup" button is worthless on netflow (drill into an IP). I set cacheexpiration to past date (in DB) and clicked - nothing I set cachedelete to past date and clicked - nothing I set FullHostname to '' (emptyset) and clicked - nothing How can I force a DNS update in Netflow v3.x (latest and greatest, I…

Whew, this is a long thread. but I'm updating my DNS based on the page to indicate needed IP entries (long story). I am wondering if there is a way to force the update. I tried clicking on the update button within the netflow page, but that is not doing it. I've verified the server pulls the DNS name correctly. Cleared the…

great idea, I would find that most useful as well.

That did it. Thanks for checking back.

This would be perfect for what I am trying to do. Basically I am trying to replace the engineering drawings for a dynamically updated drawing within the Solarwinds environment. I'd be looking for this feature to be customizable by entering the command(s) for the desired output. It would also be useful to be able to dictate…

I haven't seen the issue in a while (as long as I can remember anyways). thanks for following up.

I don't see your image, but for mine, the maps go 3 deep. first is a main map second is the switch fabric map (several 6500s and others), 3rd is the map of the individual blades or switches blown up - which each port is an object for each interface. My image shows parts of map level 2 and map level 3 for a blade.

I'm seeing the same problem. Curious as to when the fix will be out... Thx

Thanks Tim. I ended up re-installing integration module, then the error changed to APM view issues. Re-installing that...I guess I'll reinstall it into submission :)

Submitted Feature Request for "NOT CONTAINS" if interested, vote up: FR - NPM GROUP DYNAMIC QUERY - CREATE OR ALLOW "NOT CONTAINS"

still need to save this info to the DB... any thoughts?
-
looks like restarting the module engine on all of my polling engines did the trick. thanks

I had this issue and this is by design I think. Basically what I came up with/was told, was that the objects' status' are what is propagated up. I got around this, with some time/effort by nesting further maps. Essentially, I have a top map that shows switch fabric -> maped to a page that shows my 6500s (or individual…

No worries, and I am familiar with that field. I originally had it set there, with the full URL, but when the report came out, it did not have the DNS portion, just the URI as above. I ended up editing the report in notepad and added the DNS part and it worked fine after that...just some bit of a fluke I guess... At any…

ok, but "saving off" the results entails dumping to a file right, not saving to the DB? That is ultimately what I am looking for is to get that into the DB and how to do that... Thanks

Interesting...This is old post. I was running 9.0 sp2, APM, NF3 stable-like and then I just installed NCM 5 on my system. it broke my web site. Looked on thwack and saw post saying to re-install sp2 if in this environment. web break changed to this error: System.Configuration.SettingsPropertyNotFoundException: The settings…

No problem...pay it forward when you can!

Depending on which iteration you used, check your "having" and any "where" clauses. find a system that is NOT showing up as you would expect and verify these clauses are not excluding those systems. or perhaps comment those out and get everything back to see what is causing the exclusions. Also, (always check the obvious)…

excellent, thanks. I know I will need it within the next year as Orion proves its worth to mgmt and other groups, they will become dependant, then there will be an outage and they will demand its availability!
-
always happy to help in any way I can.
-
no worries. Yes, dismissed. No, didn't add additional devices. Do I need to restart Module Engine on all polling engines? thanks
-
LOL - fair enough! Thanks
-
That should populate ones that do not match. Thus telling you which NPM.Nodes.SerialNumbers do NOT match ConfigMgmt.entity_physical.Serial. I did this to NOT over-write the NPM SerialNumbers that are matched anyways (smaller result set). Either way though :)

Well, that's embarrassing :) I lost track of my customizations. I pulled from poller out of NPM and updated NCM with that. Interestingly, while researching this, I've found and verified [some of] 30 devices whose SN in NPM was wrong (changed Hardware or not using correct poller) - thus, I think this is the better way to go…
