as far as point 2, ensure the user that the Orion report is running has rights to run the SQL command (whatever - check permissions). if you run it within report writer, I assume it hangs there too? any error messages? I've never tried to create variables on the report side, maybe try making this a stored procedure and…

Looks like some really good ideas. This type of post should probably go under -> Product Feature Request. SW, can you guys move over there and ensure a PM gets it. :)

I ended up re-installing NCM and integration pack. The error then changed to APM view, so I re-installed that module and it is working now...Thanks much for checking it out.
-
great point, I'll check that out with them (I would have expected them to check that :), but...) BTW, RC choppers rock!
-
8.1 and older vs. 8.5.x Let me know if you are unclear in anything and I'll try to clear up. Thanks for checking into this.

here is the feature request that naeemfirdous submitted...(BTW, don't forget to vote for your own FR)

Once we've added to pool size, how can we verify? is 250 default (if not, what is)? Thx

didn't find much in my emails.. definitely open a support ticket. check this thread...

We work within the health care space, so are a few years behind on transport technologies, but we have a major project to migrate all of our remote connectivity to MPLS (from Frame). Realistically, we are also a consumer and do not see the inner-workings, just run BGP with the providers. As far as QoS is concerned, we are…

SW, it sure would be nice to be able to reposition the columns on this [admin] page :)
-
what about report jobs (auto emailed reports)? Is there an easy way to migrate these? in the past, I've had to recreate the entire job. PIA. :)
-
That's awesome.

I think my train of thought at the time :/ was to have a "links" tab and then specifics in the sub-section. I get your concern though.
-
Very cool, and MUCH easier..I guess it makes sense that it talks to interface table since it has the interface description...

Yes, basically seems to go by group of nodes based on location for my environment. I guess I'm confused as to what the difference is between a resulttypeID of >= 1000 and the operationstatusID. What might cause a 1001 and unknown (0) vs. giving a down (2) for OpStatusID...not getting the response packet back? thanks for…

I think it re-appeared, but I opened a ticket and they resolved it by going into the NetPerfMon DB -> views table and editing the default netflow summary view name....not sure exactly what though, but its working now. Thanks for the followup!
-
Nope, that worked; that'll do for now. Thanks!
-
I do the first option and just email the results weekly or monthly...can't remember. not ideal, but was quick to set up and gives me a quick look to ensure none running server/client, etc..

I've had this happen recently on my NPM environment on about 600 nodes. quit polling availability and response time. tried changing next poll to future in DB. got a poll or two out of it, and reverted back to past....wierd. anyways, case 218742 I've had this happen once before, but don't remember how I got around it...so…

SolarWinds, can someone from LEM team comment? Thanks! Capt. Obvious I too am running into this...cisco CDP messages - looking to trigger on %CDP. when I do *%CDP*, it still triggers on message like: "access-request 171:256:60f189816d32:alwaeqctafbzewcaxornptstcq/5hg/uvrcdpg=="

agreed, with Staurt. If you want to get fancy or have too much time on your hands, you can create "icon" images to put over...see image I created blade icons, port icons, switchblade icons, and switch icons, all in multi-colors for various status. you can do the same for servers in a rack.

I've never been able to make the "40481" type numbers work well when going back more than a week and definitely not when needing "1st of month" type things. This can be very complex so my suggestion is you start with a chunk of data (using where clause) from a specific node or interface where you are not worried if…
-
shouldn't be it, but have you tried "html" rather than "plain text"? I've only ever used html so not sure.
-
you need to use the % as wildcard.

ditto byrona, we went through the same issues and ended up with a linux based syslog server with a LEM agent on it to send to the LEM system. I initially tried sending everything to LEM, but that choked up pretty quickly with all the firewall stuff going to it. This was SW supports recommendation on 2 occasions (adding…

I have a requirement to know who is doing what to devices, including jobs scheduled, for compliance reasons. Thus, if I understand correctly, device level will not work. I need the user logged in to be the "author" of the script run, changes made, or job scheduled.

if your Distro lists use the names of the groups, it'll be easier b/c you can ${group}+'@myco.com') for the email. the single quotes can get hairy, but keep at it...it will work

Thanks

Nice, that will give report/list to make sure I'm not missing anything; Ultimately, I'm looking for a way to migrate all non-canned alerts (or all) from one instance to another. Now, we have the option to export one alert at a time; I'd like to be able to select multiple alerts and export; then import into another…
