I would absolutely start looking at the logs immediately. Since the issue does not look related to the information service you will want to start looking here C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion I would look at interface and core collector logs. Chances are you have a specific device type and or interface that is not…

You got it Jan! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much!

Any update on this ? We are trying to track historical data on user-app usage as well as the number of times an app was launched on a Citrix server. Thanks!
-
Glad to of helped!

I was absolutely routed to another helpdesk, being focused on other issues, troubleshooting the IVR was not at the top of my list. It sounded like the desk was definitely in far east asia.
-
Worked like a charm.

Thanks for the quick response, just a little bit of background so you can see where I'm coming from. I've been using the SLW application for about 4 years, I've been through every portion of the GUI several times over and use database manager for a number of things, custom SQL reporting, views ect.. I have a strong…

Is that Dynatrace ?
-
Curious, how are you creating those dashboards ?
-
Thank you Richard, its been a while since I took that SQL class...
-
Thanks Scot, have you ever run into issues where a device gets "beat up" do to the fact that two separate SolarWinds instances are querying it ?
-
I wouldn't rely on a software update to act as a legitimate fail over. Its going take a massive amount of testing.

SLW support advised that this particular device is providing a private MIB as everything is starting with 1.3.6.1.4 and not 1.3.6.1.2. Here is a response from the vendor pointed at SLW. "It sounds like you are having an issue implementing the VPLEX MIB file with your currently available SNMP server. This MIB file is the…

When you say "stored procedures" are you referring to embedded select statements ?

Hey Mike, thanks for the quick reply. So by "manually" adding the additional text we essentially change the Uri value to a string ? I played around with the #Remove Object line quite a bit and was able to remove all values found in the query using the last line below $ErrorActionPreference = 'Stop' #Add the snapin…

No updates, maintenance or any large changes at all. It ended up being IIS related. APAC support made several permission related changes and ultimately uninstalled and reinstalled IIS. First time this has happened to me in over 5 years working with SolarWinds. Im back up and appreciate the comments/feedback Thanks!
-
I have, and no luck. Currently online with APAC support.
-
Has anyone implemented this in production ? Hows it working ? Seems like a great example of automation via SolarWinds.
-
Yes, that is exactly what I was referring too. I probably should of mentioned this in the original post, the reason I am investigating is because of the notification below

Thanks tdanner! On a side note, in case anyone was curious...Im really starting to hate UDT.

I went into message sender > turned on the hubble query tool > Within the hubble tool I found the audit event table > Went into DB manager and ran this query which provided me exactly what I needed.. SELECT * FROM [dbo].[AuditingEvents] where auditeventmessage LIKE '%created node%'

This is amazing!! Works as advertised!! Honestly this is one of the most helpful posts I have come across!
-
Unfortunately it just times out, I've tried this a few times on different DataPower devices.
-
Thank you I will give it a try!
-
Im sorry I should of indicated that I am trying to monitor the services shown in the screenshot.

Mr Letts, thank you very much for the write up. This particular data is being transferred into ServiceDesk (our new helpdesk ticketing system). They want the systemuptime to be presented in hours. Is there a better way of determining a devices uptime via database query other than this value ?

I am in the same boat as you, I am just about to start monitoring AWS via API and Orion. I read somewhere that it only cost $3.50 for a million API requests. What kind of charges were you getting ?
