have you uninstalled the orion from the original installation? If not, you may stopped the solarwinds network performance management services and set it to manual/disable from the original installation (not on the VM)

How about creating 3 different alerts for each DC and use NodeID respectively?

If you know the interface ip address.....you may consider creating custom interface property and manually input the interface ip address. From there you can create the variable you need. This is the easiest workaround I did
