Long overdue. Sure seems like it ought to be fairly easy to accomplish.
-
It was not clear exactly what you were asking for in your request.
-
Great points! I'm still struggling to make sure the data logged to SIEM is actually looked at by someone ...
-
The training you've offered thus far has been very good! Thanks!
-
F5s have become critical in my environment as well.
-
thanks for a great post. Food for thought (I I guess I'm already in Thanksgiving mode!)
-
While we are talking about F5, how about full NCM support for config backups?
-
This would be a huge plus for the Solarwinds suite!
-
The flowchart was great! Our help desk is outsourced, but they have made great strides with some of this. My manager has started using the same kinds of analyses to see what kinds of tickets get passed on from the help desk and seeing what we can do to get more things solved at the front line. Seeing your post makes me…

This is very helpful. I was being steered into using the Nessus vulnerability scanner since it has DISA standards "built in". I like how NCM works and makes remediation easy.
-
Colleagues in security tell me they hear "The Company can't afford to send you to conferences and training". Truth is companies really can't afford not to ...

I searched all over for an answer to this with no luck. I hope you fare better !
-
I think Scott Adams wrote a manual about this ... new entries almost every day ...

Upgrading / hot fix installation is a lot more painful than it ought to be, IMO. Having monitoring down during updates is a tough sell in my environment. Also, seems like every time I have a support issue I have to take down S/W or reboot to fix things. Availability of the monitoring tool is so critical !

I use the FastBIt DB too. It is good; a big improvement over SQL except you have to use SWIS to get data out of it.
-
I am willing to work with Jeff to get to a resolution. I have sent an email with contact details. Thanks!

Great suggestions, but I don't know how to tell if this is a device with a huge config or not because I don't know how to correlate ProcessedNodeCount -'425' to a device name. Any ideas?
-
I did see your other reply. It wasn't "long-winded", it was perfect! I really do appreciate you and everyone else in this community that takes the time to respond and share their knowledge. I will definitely try it out. By the way, I did respond to the other post, but at the end of all the replies. I didn't realize my…

Maria, did you read the thread before you responded? This question is specifically about NCM, ie participation in the NCM RC program.
-
Did you just make that up on the fly ....? Nice!
-
Any news on your problem? I am consistently stopping at 425 nodes. I don't see anything in the log to help me diagnose what is happening. *** Assembly NCMSAConnector, Version=1.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null, .NET version v4.0.30319 *** *** Assembly SolarWinds.NDS.Engine, Version=1.3.0.0, Culture=neutral,…

Hey Solarwinds, what can we do as a community to help get this connector working? I would be willing to run any tests you want, install special code to get better diags, open a case with Cisco ... you name it. Heck, if you share the code I'll help you debug it.
-
If you mean in the same subnet, that shouldn't matter. I have copied a column out of Excel and pasted into this screen no problem.
-
Thanks to all who responded! It looks like since I didn't initiate this question I am not able to mark answers and award points. If that matters to those whom have taken the time to respond please let me know and we will find some way to make it right.

Where does this stand? I just installed 4.3.1 and see nothing has changed with Hide not "hiding" ...

I clicked on purchase of a polo shirt, clicked on confirm. All looked good. Haven't received a confirmation email or had a chance to specify size or mailing address.

I have registered and uploaded a CSV file successfully to the SNTC portal, so I am pretty confident in my account credentials and all that stuff in the onboarding doc. My management got impatient and so I had to download the Cisco collector and built the VM. I've run the Cisco discovery and inventory and uploaded to Cisco.…

Has there been any further information uncovered about debugging/resolving "UserID is invalid"/"Policy falsified" errors? I was able to create a CSV from the example on the Cisco Smartnet portal and upload that file and then view reports. Everything worked fine, so I believe all of my Cisco credentials are good. It seems…

Fair enough, not "utterly useless". I've edited my post. Thanks for your reply!

Could you maybe post on the NCM forum when the points/badge are awarded?
