While I got Q12 right the 2nd time, I will say that the wording needs to be changed. The question asks for the max average. However, the graph is min/max/and average. The answer is just the max and not the maximum average.

The key to getting good support from a cloud provider is constant reminder that you have other options (assuming you do). They are in it to make money. If you go elsewhere, they don't make any money from you.

Not necessarily. Today's regulation is more about the department / organizational practice to which it is supposed to regulate. There are IT controls you can put in to ensure that they are being practiced, but IT in general is not a direct regulatory requirement. So, unless you are in the space where you are required to…

Done. For some reason my screenshot keeps getting shrunk, but it's there.

Between this and the Birthday trivia, I was able to go over 100K. 14 months of Thwack dedication. Here's to starting on the next 100K

I took a stab at it and got it wrong. Oh well.
-
Agreed. Also, sometimes, it requires going back to step 1. Sometimes the original problem isn't really the problem after all.

Does this work for a screenshot?

Done. Even though my screenshot keeps shrinking

I don't know about a datacenter fear, but a datacenter reality. Our old datacenter had a water main break in the server room. The entire server room filled with water. Luckily, we had a basement that took most of the water (a few feet of standing water that is). We had already started building a new datacenter at this…

I agree. You can't vmotion stp-esx-01 because it is the host. So, I'm thinking the focus of the question is the first recommendation to vmotion the VM from 01 to 02. Update: Went with the obvious scenario and based my answer off of the recommendation and it worked out.

As an update, I'll take personal responsibility for all of the organizations that didn't get breached this week. For those that did, there is still work to be done. I'll do better next week.

Last question of the month. Goodbye B.r.a.d.

Since the upgrade to SAM 6.3 allowed integration of all our DPA servers, I've been trying to fill in the missing pieces of Appstack (next step SRM). This helps bring it together into a single view. Looking forward to Perfstack to take it to the next level.

I got the Spiderman and Transformers theme for the month due to the new movies. Without knowing the why behind the Silent Bob reference, I had do so some research. Now I'm looking forward to the new movie (assuming it does come to fruition). As Silent Bob would say.... " " I couldn't have said it better myself

Watched today's video 4 times and was still second (third and fourth) guessing my answer.

You only have to choose the ones that are listed. If it's not in the hint, then don't select it.

It's not just the international data privacy laws that are the concern. When I was working on my dissertation, one of the most common comments I heard was that the laws were too vague, leaving many things up to interpretation and that many times state and national laws were contradictory.

What makes you think that it is the best worscht in town? I'm not seeing it. The ad it too subtle for me. :-D

Not direclty related to the article itself, but it's kinda funny that just yesterday my 11 year old and I were talking about communications. He made mention to wishing they would come up with something better than the current cell tower technology so we don't have to worry about dropped calls / no internet. In the…

I'll just borrow money to produce a world class athlete with the intent on paying back the loan when they go pro.

Just happened to notice the deadline for completion is my birthday. A Rift / Touch combo would make a nice birthday present. Just saying

I've completed everything, but it says I'm at 86% complete. Any idea how to find out what it thinks I'm missing?

One of my first experiences with VMAN while in POC. Our storage team came to us saying they were getting alerted of high IO on one of the clusters, but they couldn't identify where. I started out in VMAN at the cluster level and began drilling into the hosts. Once I identified the host, I drilled into the VMs until I found…

Took a Basic programming class in high school and loved it. I started college with the mindset that I was going to be a programmer. My first programming class didn't go so well, so I didn't enjoy it. I still have the degree (computer engineering), but quickly learned that I don't have the desire to program. That's why I'm…

Agreed. The answer if obvious if you read through the features.

We do something similar. The issue we have found is when the hackers use IP addresses from within the allowed areas. Those are the ones we have to worry about.

Blank passwords are nice. It cuts down on what you have to remember.

Looks like fun. I need a SWUG group near me.

This is a conversation we have been having recently. We recently had a vendor come in and take a look all of our monitoring tools to figure out where we go next. The end goal is to find a way to monitor everything as is or better and have the tools all talk to each other. Nice goal, but time consuming and expensive.
