If you want a single notification for a group of servers, it sounds like you would be better off using a report instead of an alert. Depending on how often your nodes use disk space will determine how often you schedule the report to run. If you use an alert, it will trigger every time a single server free space changes.

It will be impossible to get the ERD for the database. We tried this and our account manager was told that one doesn't exist because of the frequent changes. A couple of ways that I have found to get the data. 1. Use SQL Studio or SWQL Studio and browse around. Takes a bit to learn where everything is, but it can be done.…

My first step would be to run the config wizard and see if that helps. However, the error is generic, so it could be a number of things. You will mostly likely want to contact support.

One more question. Are you running DPA on the same servers as your SAM / NPM poller? I checked one of my DPA servers and it's using about 2.6GB of RAM. So, 1.3 is not excessive.
-
I'm guessing this is on your DPA server since Ignite is the previous name for DPA. What version are you running?

VMAN is not required for Cloud.

I would like to introduce the newest inductee to the SolarWinds SCP family..... ME! Just passed SAM.

I'm not sure I'm following when you say the filter applies across all of the groups. Do you mean you filter on 1 Top XX and the filter applies to them all? Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
-
You can do this with a custom table. Just create a new report and add in the node name and group name columns.
-
We use both. VMAN is great for the virtualization side of things, but that obviously won't give you the physical numbers. And SAM gives you a lot more that VMAN doesn't do. The two products complement each other to give you a better overall picture of your environment.

Take a look at the following thread. It should help point you in the right direction. Re: Monitor Processes with high CPU utilization on a Windows sever Also, here is an article describing the RealTimeProcessPoller. Real-Time Process information in top 10 alerts

For anyone that is interested, the download for the standalone web install is below. It requires an license for long term use. http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/SAM/SolarWinds-SAM-v6.2.4-WebOnly.zip

I hope that I'm not the only one still waiting. My swag bag doesn't appear to want to come see me.

Completed. Out of curiosity. Is it 500 or 250? The survey says 250 when you get to the end.

There is a built in alert for the App Pools. Have you looked at this to see if it fits your needs?

If I change the aggregation from Average to Max, does that give me a true max or a max of the averages?
-
The usage profile and capacity planning options you pick has a play into the results. Did you change any options from default? What is your usage profile set to? How many days of data have you collected so far?

It sounds like you need to use custom properties along with the All Applications - Tree. I would create a custom property named whatever (application for example) and assign the name of the appropriate application to each server. Then add in an All Application - Tree resource. Edit the resource, and you can pick the drill…

We had a similar problem and discovered that https was not open on the DPA servers.

Update to the original question. We enabled JMX, so I can now utilize it to get the data. Anyone have any insight into what should be monitored? I enabled a bunch of random things that the JMX allowed me too, but not sure if I'm capturing the correct data.

Without knowing the why behind it, the first thing that came to mind is why a database server would be sitting in the DMZ. From a security standpoint, the app would sit in the DMZ and the database would be internal. With regards to the actual question, I have not done a lot with the SQL Appinsight, so I can't answer the…

There are vm.annotation.name and vm.annotation.value fields. Are these the values you are looking for?
-
See below for instructions on how to create a Data Trend provided to me by Solarwinds. By incorporating this into a widget, you have the option to sort.
-
You should be able to do something like this.
-
Still not sure what caused the problem, but it's fixed now. I upgraded to SAM 6.3 and it applied to the remaining servers. So, either the upgrade fixed it or simply a restart of the services.
-
Is this for SAM or NPM? What type of utilization are you looking for? Network, CPU, Memory, Disk?
-
Can you send screenshots of the selections for your custom chart?

If your subnets are spanned across locations and you can put both Orion servers on the same subnet, then you should look into HA. High Availability - Failover Clusters | Solarwinds

Here is what we did for our Linux servers. The below is assuming you have a default SNMP config. This is unrestrictive in the sense that it give access to a lot of data (everything under the .1 OID). That is why it's important to change the string name to something more secure. 1. Comment out the v1 SNMP line to restrict…

Our servers were joined to the domain long before the install was completed. I would be curious as to why it would even be recommended to do the join afterwards.
