Gotta go with Chewy. He and I speak the same language.

Now you tell me. I have a headache from thinking so hard earlier. Wish I would have known.

I have been out of the end-user help desk role for years, but I have the same problem at home. My kids are always asking me to fix their whatever game when I have no control over it. I just reboot their laptop and hope it's working when it comes back up.

Care to share where Heaven exists? I need to buy some meat by the Pig.

I agree that the answers were confusing. For those that are struggling, I got today's question right by only selecting one answer.

I will say that you have stumped me. I will have to defer to your own knowledge as I am not as well versed.

Back in my NOC days, I learned that too many alerts tend to make people desensitized to them. The personnel get so used to seeing thousands of alerts that they cannot take action on, items get missed.
-
If I'm understanding the ask correctly.... The way I do this is I create alerts for each group and assign it an alert limitation category. I've verified that works as expected because I created an All Alerts widget on a dashboard. The contents of the widget are dependent upon which account I'm logged in with.

I'm moving to Germany so I can get paid to use my grow light. :-D

Yep. I'm in now. Thanks to whomever fixed it.

We have been using NPM for years. We are currently installing / configuring SAM. However, we went back and forth several times on the best implementation path. Our Networking team that controls NPM has some reservations about adding another product into their database. In discussing with Solarwinds sales tech support, they…

Just saw a story on the new this morning about the embryo modification. Interesting concept. I'm curious as to what all they can remove. In the future, does this mean that no more getting pregnant the old fashion way. The lab will serve as the middle man in the process to ensure a disease free generation.

I'm a big fan of training / learning. Three masters degrees, a doctorate, and multiple IT certifications. I always find ways to keep myself busy and learn more. Even if I don't get a certification out of it, then I still try to keep myself relevant and will learn whatever I can on my own. For those that have organizations…

The recommendations is in Orion. Did you integrate VMAN and Orion?

I will say that I love DPA. We have owned it longer than Solarwinds has. I'm not a DBA, but I can find problems inside of DPA. At that point, I can get a real DBA involved to help resolve it. The only problem I have with DPA, is I wish Solarwinds would redesign the backend. The current environment requires a one to one…

Genie has some flaws. - He cannot k anyone. Therefore, he would have been useless against Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Hermione can hold her own against the evils and take whatever steps necessary. - If Voldemort would be the one to find Genie's lamp, then Genie would have had to grant his wish to take over the world.…

I'm late to the game. Just realized yesterday that a new mission had started. Guess that's what I get for working instead of spending time on thwack. I apologize SolarWinds. I won't let it happen again.

Now I know why I'm not a DBA. Opened the SQL on VMware document until I realized that it was 53 pages. I'll just wing it. :-D
-
You guys are good. Already received my shipping info.
-
Same here. I've been perfect for 3 months now until today's question.
-
Looks like I'm busy next week. A training class every day.

Yes, you are eligible to donate it to me if you win again.

Thank you. I found that earlier and went back and completed it again. Or so I thought. Turns out, I was bookmarking one of the individual pages and not the main "What We Are Working On" page. Thanks for your help.

Do you know when the survey will be sent out? I took two classes so far and haven't seen a survey.

Skimmer Article Even more interesting than the article itself are the comments. One guy is asking if you can buy a skimmer on the dark web and how much it would cost. Can anyone think of a legitimate reason to ask the question?

I too still use tracert and ping a lot as they are simply and readily available. In my networking class, most of my students have not used tracert and some do not know the power of icmp. So, it's a good introductory tool. In the context of the article, yes they are outdated. But like you said, they are simple and readily…
