On Halloween of 2013 the VMware ESXi hosts decided it would be a good time to purple screen of death and have that roll though each of the hosts in the cluster. I missed Halloween with the kids because of work. I always fear it will happen again and i'll be missing out on important moments with the family.

it would be nice to know what the right answer is after getting a question wrong.

I'm thankful for Network and Compute Virtualization and the THWACK community.

The role of a sysadmin has changed recently with the whole DevOps concept. The mergeing of a programmer into a sysadmin. The next 10 years i expect we will see security play a ever increasing role in the way we all work. Virtualization changes daily it feels like. Wearables and how we will support them is getting closer…

So to add what I found with Support today. An Agent is already installed on the node. 17778 is the only port open between SAM and the Node. The Default AppInsight check is looking for \ASP.NET\Request Execution Time I dont have ASP.NET I have ASP.NET v2 & ASP.NET Appsv2... & ASP.NET v4 & ASP.NET Apps v4... I ran lodcrt /r…

That worked! Thank you! IIS was bound to the specific IPv4 address on the box. I switched the IP address binding back to All Unassigned and it picked up right away. Thank you aLTeReGo !!

njoylif Yesterday was the first day we were back in the GUI. It held up yesterday without fail. Hopefully it will continue to work and that was our fix.

I've done the scripts in that document. Is there a check against SQL server that isn't working from my screenshot? The ones that are gray i think are checks against the windows box itself such as Disk counters and Status of services.

Northwest Indiana.

Yes, IIS is configured for HTTPS on 443.

Looking this morning the whole AppInsight check says Job canceled by scheduler. I have opened a support case.

Support came back with this answer: ------------------------------------------------ The steps are below. Enable schema caching. 1. Find this file, C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\web.config. 2. Add this key inside the web.config <appSettings> sections(If the key already exists just change the value): <add…

Its a single monitor applied manually to a node.

We are using a local database account for the SQL queries and those come back with data. Here is a screenshot.

VM was powered off, Solarwinds showed Node UP. NPM 12.0.1 SAM 6.3 Orion 2016.2.100 All Services show as running in orion service manager.
-
That worked! Thank you!
-
Thanks borgan ! I've contacted a rep from Corona. Still trying to determine the best path for us on our end.
-
Clicking on those links for Solarwinds live classes there says there are no trainings currently posted. NPM+Orion would be a good place to start. Another product we own and have started to use Heavily is SAM. SAM is a pretty large product i'd like actual training on. What I've found is Loop1 offers an actual class where I…

I know this is old but i'll try anyway. How did you add the blades? I have the UCSM VIP added with ICMP and the UCS Credentials which work. Then the two FI's doing SNMP w/o UCS Creds. When i go to the UCS view i can click on the blade-1 and it wants to add it but its the KVM IP which I cant do SNMP. Sooo?

Its just the out of the box one.

That worked. Thank you neomatrix1217 !

So I have all of my pollers (34) for the temp sensors setup. I created a new Transform with a formula of avg({rPDU2SensorTempHumidityStatusTempF})/10 If I assign the transform to a node I get the Average of that node. How do I tell it to average multiple nodes for the single poll cycle? All the UnDP pollers are set at the…
-
I had not thought of that. It does work. Is this the only way to display the average of that UnDP poll?

d09h YES!! that worked!! Thank you!!

I had a .net update waiting in windows update. I applied that and rebooted and everything worked for me again. Sorry that isn't much help but that is how i resolved my issue i wrote about in this thread.

The ASP.NET categories are there in perfmon.exe

Thanks yaquaholic I opened a case with that info. Hopefully they'll have some good news for me.

Its been happening since we went to version 12. After a reboot that service is around 261.7MB for a bit then it takes off and balloons and crashes quickly to where it takes the services down so we don't get a high memory usage alarm from the system.

Is there a way to disable the Application Checks for HTTPS Monitor and SSL Certificate Expiration Date or do I have to remove the monitors completely from the node? It is something I want to monitor on this node if/when this becomes available for TLS1.2.
