  • I'm happy to note that it is being done. Please let us know when this is available. Thanks!
  • I downloaded it two weeks ago and today, I loaded the SP2 and installed that. This is the framework that I am working from for all of the questions. Thanks for the attention. So, the issue still remains
  • My original question has not been addressed. I have an interface on a device that is enabled to be viewed AND I want to collect statistics on it when it is UP, BUT I do NOT want to have it monitored for an UP/DOWN condition on the WEB page. Obviously, I will not alert on this interface. So any Custom Property does not…
  • Yes, you are correct. BUT, now when I start the Orion webpage from any workstation, it displays the DirectLink SUMMARY page and not the LOGIN screen. If I "logoff" I get the login screen and I can log in to Orion. Isn't this a bug?
  • Was there ever a resolution? I cannot get the message to go away either.
  • I am being charged to find this very statistic family. We have looked at the CIsco stuff and due to the HIGH cost, we were wondering if you are going to really open up CCM. Our feeling here is that if you do, the market will flood to Orion, yet again. Please keep me posted on this important function. Since we are…
  • This worked for me as well. My question is this: When we upgraded to the latest release, why didn't the installation procedure job either change the settings itself or make a note window show up that said that this would be required? I am asking this to help improve the process, not be critical. thanks for the time and ear.
  • Gee, thanks. I disabled the Directlink account to make it work. However, this is not good since we use this extensively with another application. How do I get around that issue?
  • I have to weigh in on the Rep note! You actually spend time talking to your rep? At the best the reps are the weakest link in any process when dealing with SW. Support needs some help, agreed. The director is doing a great job of catching up. Certainly, there is more to be done. I would suggest that a Suport Forum be set…
  • Just a kindly comment. When we run a Worldwide network, having it take all of this Netflow data across the WAN links becomes costly froma data standpoint. Consolidating that data and sending it in compressed or pre-processed form is much better. OTher vendors do that and the efficiency is much greater. Links that are…
  • This just in from Support!!!!!!! Update for Case #96063 - "Inventory Job Runs very Slowly" Mark, I got an update on this case. Our devs made some fixes related to the Inventory performance. SNMP Timeout and Retries settings for Inventory process were added on "SNMP Settings" tab of the Orion NCM Settings dialog. This will…
  • We would also like to have the feature of NCM polling Cisco for EOL/EOS etc.
  • 24x7 support is mandatory. No 2 tiers. We pay enough already. I agree about the foundation. Build it strong first. My contract infers 24x7 even though that is not true. Service is very good but this is a hole that needs to be plugged. Why has it taken so long to even realize this? I have been asking for this for about 6…
  • Do you have more than one polling engine? If so, IPSLA must be on BOTH engines to work. I just got tripped up by that one. Call or write support for details.
  • Please see my second post on this where I stated "if I may be so bold" for ideas on how others do it.
  • I tried to and got nowhere. I'll open another one.
  • I just want to ask one more question for you. We have had it where devices that are behind FW's take different routes if the back up FW takes over. Also, if you are connecting using MPLS and VPN to sites, Windows boxes do not always update on how to get to a destination. I have used Engineer's Tools to look at devices that…
  • I guess the issue has been lost. I cannot get a LOGIN SCREEN to come up! I have been to the database and there is nothing wrong with the settings. It just won't present the login screen. It changes the URL on the fly to /Orion/SummaryView.aspx
  • We are integrating with Maintenance contracts.
  • I'm thinking that the permissions issue is not the culprit. I believe it is the CREATOR issue where the app is not looking for the correct job or possibly the version. When you touch the WT list, Orion is now not in synch and it can't find the old "job". The real issue for me was the fact that NCM didn't delete or alter…
  • I have discovered that if a Cisco router is running 12.4(20)T or above OR if it is running 15.n, NHRP MIB is supported. You should read the following article from Cisco: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/sec_secure_connectivity/configuration/guide/sec_dmvpn_nhrp_mib_ps10591_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html I…
  • William, What I am trying to gain is knowledge of how ORion calcs "Down" time for a device. What I am thinking about right now, is that given the 2 minutes between "Ping" polls, one could have missed a "Down" starting with 1 or 2 seconds in to the next cycle and then have to calc all the way out to the 2 minutes plus…
  • You should not have had to do that. I have had it where it takes some time for the processes to complete but that was not correct. I would still oook at your db to make sure it is correct. You may have two devices with the same criteria now. I'm just suggesting. Have a good day.
  • Thanks for the idea. However, we have had that disabled for about 6 months now. The last inventory of 1200 devices took slightly over 2 1/2 DAYS! I jsut got the report this morning as the job ended. We have seen that the job is waiting for a period of time for EACH query to the device. I think that there is an iddue within…
  • We have already tried that. While it does help, it is really just a workaround to actual processing problems that the task has. If we set it to anything greater than 3 or 4 devices at a time, the server goes to 100% CPU (2 dual core processors) and that just keeps everything else from running normally. We have NPM on the…
  • Make sure that the DATABSE records have the correct polling engine in them. You might have a new polling engine and the numbers are not the ones in the DB. I've bee here before and SW helped me out of that one.
  • I was directed to this stream as well. I was asking for XLS type files. I see that as a "must have" for using the report. Seeing it is fine but we have other needs as well.
  • Unless you do what Jason says to do, the times will be wrong in IPSLA. One really has to ask why the code was never checked or the timezones were never entered into hte XML file in the first place.
  • I have over 21K of pollers on ONE polling engine. The application server is 2 dual core. The database is now on a 64bit SQL server that is also 2 dual core. I have had gaps if I try to do all of the work in less than 10 minutes of statistics. There are several things that I have been successful in tuning. 1. Make sure that…
  • Amen to the Advanced Alerts. Please open up ALL possibilities that the database already contains information for.
