Most of this information can already be gathered using SAM Asset Inventory and Hardware Health features. Are you able to collect this information from the server using SAM?

Make sure you are not trying to connect with the saved username and password. You'll need to connect with Windows Authentication or with the SQL sa username. Once the connection is established and you choose the database, you'll need to create a new user. Also remember to ensure the SQL Server Agent is running on the new…

I agree with Terry Auspitz, please say yes. Always some good info in those, plus some cool stuff for those of us who like to attend.

Usually this is caused by something in the tables that is either taking too long, or is causing errors. Could be corrupt data, or orphaned. The best place to start is looking into the swdebugmaintenance.log in the install directory of Orion and searching for errors during a time when the auto-maintenance failed to complete.

opened a support case, 00326000, and so far 8 days later I'm still waiting to figure out what supposed even wants to look at. I sent in a log initially and have spent the rest of the time waiting.

TFTP is actually going to be selected in the download method on the device details, not within the template itself. You should just be able to set the devices you want to download via TFTP. You should also be able to get the devices to save in the config archive as long as you have the settings set to save a copy in the…

In order to get the older version of software, you'd have to contact SolarWinds support and see about getting the older download links from them.

Rather than using the * you'd want to use % in order to make the name convert logically into a SQL statement. What I would recommend is a condition group of" Trigger when any of the following apply: Statistic Data Name starts with access% Statistic Data Name starts with Access% This should allow the wildcard to be…

The other option you need to take into account other than using SQL is if the data is even in the database for that long. For SAM, the data isn't usually kept as long. I would first go into the Data and Database settings located at //yourserver//Orion/APM/Admin/Settings.aspx and check to see how long you are keeping the…

The upgrade should not remove any historical data captured in the database. There are schema changes being done, but it won't affect the data stored. While there won't be data collected during the upgrade causing a small gap in data, all your historical data will still be intact at the end of the upgrade.

Another option I've seen help from time to time is to grant Authenticated Users FULL control to \Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Schemas and the .NetObjectSchema files Regards, Matthew Harvey Senior Sales Engineer Loop1 Systems

I have to agree with both Terry Auspitz and aLTeReGo on this. There's not anything you can do within the product other than lengthen out the alerting time in the Trigger Condition.

Too add on to what HolyGuacamole has, have you checked the Windows Event Logs to see what's going on? Have you tried a repair on the software through programs and features?

I've tried this using the SQL builder variable and even doing a join with the Nodes table and Containers_AlertsandReportsData is bringing up an error not being able to bind the node name, so the IP won't pull.

As the authentication has to be made to the domain, you'd need trust to allow the server the ability to talk to the domain. Otherwise, the domain itself is what is rejecting the credentials, not IPAM. There probably isn't a way to code around these types of restrictions.

The MFR is a multi-link frame relay circuit that's being reported by the device via SNMP. More information on MRR can be found here: Multilink Frame Relay - Cisco Systems. In terms of reports, there are many bandwidth reports in the Orion Report Writer that will show the same data. Most of these are already setup in the…

Raul, Have you confirmed within the configs that that destination is the IP of the Orion NTA server and being sent to port 2055? Did the Orion server get migrated at all? If so, the IP for the destination may not be correct and flows may be going to an older server. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems…

If it's not showing up, then the resources is auto-hidden as the node you are looking at has no topology information. Make sure that when you do a list resources on the node that the topology options are selected. If there are no topology options on a list resources, the device may not support the MIBs that NPM is polling,…

I'm assuming the validate SQL works without issues. I can't see anything that would cause and issue unless there's supposed to be a Select Distinct, but that would be a coding issue. If you remove the AND statements, does the alert fire then?

EOC uses ldap authentication so it's either going to be a local server account on the server that was installed, or the domain account you were signed in with. If all else fails, you can rerun the configuration wizard and specify your domain account as the admin. Unlike Orion, EOC doesn't use admin, guest, etc style…

Are there any limitations on either your account or the view?
-
Can you elaborate a little more? What were the service accounts set up for? Are you logging in with them or are they for database connection?

By default Orion polls both the ifName and ifDescr to get the interfaces name and description from the node via snmp poll. If these aren't setup on the node, this may be why you aren't seeing anything in terms of Interface name. You can also edit the interface in Orion via Node Management and give the port a friendly name…

One method I would think could help would be to rename the component to the name of the URL you are monitoring. From there you can use the ${componentname} variable in your alert which would send out which URL is having the issue.
-
The easiest way to do this is going to be through the use of an alert suppression as the trigger condition may not be able to handle the logic. Let's say the primary device is A and the failover is B. What you would want is as follows: Trigger Condition: Trigger when all of the following apply: Node Name is equal to A Node…

In the Windows Scheduled task, make sure the job is set to run whether the user is logged in or not. I'd also recommend changing the credentials from yours to a service account with administrative access to the server, along with using a local Orion account in the Orion Report Scheduler, such as admin, or create a user…

Have you tried to test WMI connectivity between the SAM server and the target server using wbemtest to ensure WMI connectivity is there? Have you tried using RPC as the fetching method. Finally, have you logged into the SAM server as the account you are using for the template and tried to connect to the Event Viewer on…

depends on how it's being seen. Another thing to try is to use the IP of the SMTP server rather than the server name. Are there any differences in the SMTP configuration or the email action configuration for the alerts that work and the alerts that don't?
-
You don't need to set up two alerts. All you need to do is set up another email action within the alert, then go to the Alert Escalation tab, place a check in the "Delay the Execution of this Action" option and set your time to 2 hours. We've done something similar with a 4 minute delay on the action:
