Thanks everyone for your advice.

I found my issue. The policy reports are held in the actual ncm Database. Because 9.5 now uses npm's nodes I hadn't actually imported the ncm database. I did this and all was well. Sam

What was the fix?

The nprobe is installed onto a pc and one of the nic's is plugged into a cisco span port. The other is into the normal network port. When you run nprobe you have to specify the source interface to monitor as per: nprobe /c -i 2 (nprobe shows you what interface nrpobe see's as the index number) Then you have to speciy the…

Did this get fixed as i face the same issue on 9.5 sp2 sam

OK. Thanks

This does work and makes the interfaced go down. I have thousands of nodes, is there a way to do this on a bulk level. As in make all interfaces dependant on their own switch. sam

I've now configured the RTCN in ncm but the email is not being sent. I have 3 syslog trap viewers (orion/ncm + toolset) at one point it the trap was being sent to the orion one, next the ncm one and now the toolset one! maybe this is my issue as the alert is configured only in the ncm trap viewer? thanks sam

That is great. I've now got all the right results displayed. Only one question: If the status changes from 6(active) to 5(standby) the new result of 5 will show as 5 and not standby as there was only one row to add. Is there a way to add another row to pre-empt changes? Many Thanks for the answer

That's great. I'm going to demo it this week. What's the best way to contact a sales engineer with my queries prior to purchasing? Sam

Oh bugger! ok we will just have to wait Thanks Sam

I too have lost all my maps. They show up in the atlas but are actually blank apart from 2 gif ones. I was able to open the old maps in atlas but they are still empty. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I'll open a support call too. Thanks Sam

That's great. Sam

I do have this on. It's mainly on tunnel interfaces that one end shows ingress and the other end show egress netflow. very odd.
-
Yes this worked a treat. I just used it. Many Thanks

I guess you would use the database manager and do a database backup. Then import this file into your new database. If you are using sql express you will need sql express studio to import I think. Sam

We're using ip sla to ping a device and if it goes down we use eem to shutdown the dialler interface and bring up the main interface. When the device is pingable again we bring the dialler interface back up.

I don't know if anyone else might want it but if they knew it would work I'm sure they would. If it doesn't work then we will probably have to buy scrutinizer instead of the Netflow module which is a bit of a shame because the functionality of the netflow module is much better. Thanks Sam

Thanks for both of your advice. I wish that Solarwinds provided more indepth documentation on the database part of the installation. All your info is greatly appreciated. Sam

I need to be able to allocate a certain map to individual users. The users don't have rights to customize pages etc because i don't want them to. How can i add their map to their profile? (i'm know this was do-able under 9.1 within administration) Thanks Sam

I had created mine manually and the values did not populate. I used this one and it worked a treat. Thanks Sam

Sorry to jump in. For me the documentation lacks on understanding how the databases work with each other. I'm trying to find out how my sites will interact with EOC installed at the central site. If i have 16xsites with 16xnetperfmon databases and EOC installed at the main site. Does that mean that the EOC database will…

This is great. I have done a mib walk and can see that hrSWrunName and status. Only the hrSWrunstatus does not say which process it is. There is a long list of about 15 processes that are running .All in a state of 1(up and running). I could stop the process i guess but is there a better way to correlate the NAME with the…

My issue turned out to be permissions on the AD side, I installed with administrator and local logon and all worked well. Sam

I did this above and i still got the same error: 'Invalid filter, complex condition is empty , does not contain nested conditions'. Have resent screen shot of my report designer thanks sam
-
I did try this but after you select > import sample reports/policies/rules it asks if you are sure then it does not ask which reports to import? Should I have placed them somewhere? Sam

Many thanks for your views.

I'm on 9.5 sp1. Sam

We need a tool to provide details of call loads, any call issues, Problems with the CUCM environment. CUOM provides great details of call quality/loads/jitters/latency mos values. It has the ability to see in great detail every detail the CUCM infrastructure. Here is the cisco blurb: Contextual diagnostic tools: –…

No it definately uses other ports. It does multi threaded tftp when it upload/downloads more than one config at a time. Looking at wireshare it seems to be ports around 1430 but I just wanted to know the exact ones. Sam
