You could try to use OrionPollerCheckertool, to scan and select apropiate pollers for those devices, i had this problem and was that the poller checker tool didnt have a proper poller associated.
-
Thanks! i had NPM 11.01 with the same problem and this solution worked too

Yes, i understand that the alert integration through email is possible, but the method preferred by CA is webservices
-
Yes, our SD software is in another server, but the problem is that i'm not trying to connect directly using the alert engine so this shouldn't be a problem. I'm trying to execute a local program, a JAR that will send through webservices the data i want. I did some testing and in the command line the command works…

we are trying to integrate Orion alerting with CASDM in a non native way.

Thank You very much Sire!

¿Is there any way to do this for network devices? we are currently monitoring the administration port for several remote FWs, we are doing it with whatsup, because its dirt cheap if we want to do it with Solarwinds we need to buy a SAM Unlimited ( +$18K) and we cannot justify that amount just for TCP port monitoring. in…

Tested it, and it works... My problem was when adding new nodes, with nodes previously added everything was fine.

rdbrooks escribió: Thanks guys, now stupid question time...from the video presentations i've seen they mentioned "orion core", <----what is it that they are referring to exactly? and when they say a poller, are they are talking about a machine running the NPM, SAM etc.. software right? Orion Core is the base version on top…

wait... it seemed to work fine, but for Hardware alerts if i add the Node.CustomProperties.XXX its the same, i get the code in the alert not the info in the custom property.
-
Works like a charm, Thanks!
-
I did the same but with interfaces. If a interface goes into "Unknown" state means that SNMP or WMI is not responding so i built an alert based on that Its Simple and no need of "Voodoo SQL". (actually it was made that way because i SUCK at SQL)

Excellent. im learning a lot. Thanks
-
I have the same option, here if the screen with the option "more" displayed.

You can use Enterprise Operation Console to gather and centralize de data from all the remote sites. http://www.solarwinds.com/es/enterprise-operations-console.aspx#p_top

I didnt knew there were an API for this, i will tell the developers to check this. Thanks.

Thanks Mate, when i read that kb article i couldn't believe my eyes, i was angry too. Anyway it was my fault to implement APPINSIGHT without searching all the angles, and assume that something that basic would be included, but come on! I'll have to go the manual craft way.

Polling interval can affect in a negative way also, perhaps the polling interval is too low, 60 seconds for apps in SAM for example can make a disaster if you have multiple templates. baher You can increase the polling interval if its acceptable to decrease load in the server/db

Thank you Sire!

According to the release notes, it does supports NTA but no FSDB

This tool was very useful to solve one problem we had with two ASR1001, the memory was polled with the wrong OID and was always at 95%.

* New "small" remote poller. I like the sound of this.

This! https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/tmos_management_guide_10_1/tmos_snmp.html#1041609 Once you have the proper OIDs, you can create custom pollers and assign them to your F5 devices Create Custom Pollers in SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) - Videos | SolarWinds

Hola. Saludos!

Is correct as it is. What solarwinds is trying to tell you, is that the trigger conditions you declared (app down in both nodes) are not active right now.
-
If you wish to monitor DSL availability, depending of the model, you can configure a Dyn DNS and add it to NPM
-
If you are going to use the server in wich is actually running , Its easier if you just made a full backup of your database, migrate the SQL to a dedicated server, restore the DB, then. upgrading all the modules (first, NMP, then SAM, etc.) if you are coming from really old versions, there is an upgrade path you have to…

It was the more obvious thing to check. Data collection was disabled in the VNX, thats why adding manually didnt work, the automated discovery worked allright in SRM, but in the profiler module automated discovery still dont work. anyway it was the more obvious and stupid thing that i forgot to check Thank, and sorry for…
