You can set ToS or VRF to test over your CoS

Hi Scott, Were you able to get past this issue? Andy

Hi dharsh, Can you take a packet capture from the NTA collector interface and see what IfIndex the exports show?
-
Your element count for NPM is well within the normal limits but I'm wondering what the NTA load is? How many NTA sources do you have and what bandwidth circuits are they monitoring? How many nodes are there in NCM? For the SQL server you have made some good changes but you will get much improved performance by going to a…

You cannot run the products on SQL 2000 but you can monitor SQL 2000 It is very basic monitoring for 2000. Use the SQL server Query Template. Andy

Hi Matthew, For MPLS specific NetFlow you need to implement Flexible NetFlow (FNF). This is not too difficult but the issue is that you need a collector that can interpret MPLS templates and flows in the flow export. I don't believe that this exists today. You can still implement Netflow v9 or v5 on the CE IP interfaces…

Hi Paul, Please open a ticket on this one. Andy

Is deleting it and readding an option?

NTA does not reclassify old traffic based on new settings. This means that the unmonitired traffic will be seen until it ages out.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing with the Community!! Can you exporrt the alert and post it in Content Exchange? http://thwack.com/media/40/orion-npm-content/general/ Andy

Looking a flows across an interface for a 3 month period is a lot of data. You could increase the report time by asking for a shorter time period,. Also running you drives in RAID 0 performs much better than RAID1. Andy

Take a look at this blog post - I think this trick would help a lot.

If I read you right you want to set QoS policies. I believe this is only possible via CLI.
-
Run the config wizard and you should be OK
-
A common troubleshooting step is to capture packets on the Orion server interface and look for cflow protocol being received.
-
You mention that the hover over show all the components up. Do you see the same thing when you expand the application and see all the components listed? If you see them all as up I recommend you open a ticket.

Hi Jerge, The NetFlow Configurator will not work on 6509's. You'll have to do a CLI config of NetFlow on that device. Andy
-
Hi Bryan, This happens when 3.5 is installed on a machine or database that had pre 3.1 NTA installed in the past. Support can fix this quickly with a ticket. Andy

That is a new feature in IP SLAM. Path echo operation.

Hi rmarshall, There is a KB on this issue here. Andy

Thank you bcorgey! I'd give you extra community points if I could.

These machine-level failures or errors are not typically tracked by NPM. What you can do is look at the MIB on the device you are wanting to monitor for these conditions and see if the conditions are included in the MIB. If so, you can build Universal Device Pollers (UnDP) for those items. What brand/model of hardware is…

Hi joesim123, Today there is no way to change the default but I have specified the ability to do so for a release coming soon. Andy

See this doc.

If you alter the alert trigger level so that new volume limits are exceeded you will get new triggers. You can delete the offending alert action, adjust the alerts, then reapply the action.

What you need is a Failover environment. http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/scalability/failover.aspx

Hi melbourne12, Orion does not include a compiling engine. We are now on version 9.5 and have addded support for a lot of devices since v7 so they might already be included. What are you trying to manage? Andy
-
I don't know what was there but this is way easier in the ui than it was before. Go to Manage Nodes and change the Show: type to Interfaces. Search on Null and then click the top check box to multiselect. Click Delete and confirm the delete. If there are more than one page can hold you have the option to remove them all as…

That's a pretty general symptom. Can you provide some specifics? Device count, element count, SQL server hardware, Orion software revs?
-
Normally you would want a node down to apply to all nodes but you can qualify with something like the attached.
