When you get into the install there is a place to choose auto or manual setup. Choose manual and the manual instructions will pop up. Also recommend careful reading of the manual before doing anything. Cisco's web page has some good info on configuring IP SLA.

Keep in mind that the sysUpTime OID counter is in 100ths of a second, so you'll need to use that factor to determine the hours or days a system has been up.

Hi ACDII, Chuko is correct that the feature set is the same across all license sizes. SLX just means you can have unlimited element counts. There is a document called "Upgrade instructions" in the Customer Portal under the DOWNLOAD YOUR SOFTWARE or REGISTER YOUR SOFTWARE sections. Look in one of these areas for Orion or an…

I should have mentioned that I am adding UDP Jitter VoIP operations. I have looked over the config guides but they are very vague about the 7K supporting the responder. The operations are all being added at cli, not the VNQM UI.

puenther, You can use SolarWinds' to monitor VoIP from any vendor as long as the traffic is carried over Cisco routers. You will be able to see latency, Jitter and MOS. The Call Manager area won't yield data until you deploy Cisco CM. Even though NBX earlier than 6.x use some antiquated protocols, we will still give you…

Run the config wizard and the Monitor Polling Engines utility to be sure the Orion server and polling engine are proper.

I'm now SW staff but when I was I did a lot of work on Advanced Alerts. The eval time sets how often the alerting engine queries the DB for the alert condition. If the condition is true before during the query it will trigger.
-
Hi Donald, Good to hear that worked for now. I am looking at feature enhancements that will allow you to select the CBQoS interfaces you want to monitor for environments with a large number of CBQoS interfaces. Andy

Thanks all for the feedback. We really appreciate that you take the time to let us know how we are doing!

This document details alert logic.

You also could run the Configuration Wizard against the database and the web. Thay may clear the issue.

Many applications communicate in one direction on a randomly chosen high port. Because it is randomly chosen, it won't map derectly to any particular application over time.
-
That will work but I'd love to have the flexibility to allow them to unmanage but not allow them to edit the components. Thank you!

Jeremy, can you post the output of sho ip flo exp and sho ip cache verbose flo Andy

Please open a ticket on this

You might also try setting up an advanced alert on this

Another way is to create an alert for each region with the proper nodes (using custom properties like aLTeReGo recommends) and disable/enable the region's alert for maintenance. If you want to use the alert manager as a scheduler for this you can alter the tim of day/day of week setting on the alert before the window and…

I used to be Capt CH4 but decided it was best not to brag about that one. ;)

This has to win "feature" of the year. Love the hex IP address.

Yes - I made this post sticky so it will show at the top of the forum.

Thanks!

Good feedback Dan. I'll loop back to this for the first revision.

Got it. Thanks!

Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing?
-
I found that the only place that ability exists is in the Setting area. I'll mark this for a PM to see for a possible feature.

If you have any modules installed it is crucial that you follow the steps as noted below. For more information about upgrading Orion NPM, particularly if you are upgrading an Orion NPM installation that includes Orion modules, log in to your SolarWinds Customer Portal at www.solarwinds.com/customerportal/, click License…

Awesome - I'll contact you.
-
That is true Eric, the alert engine checks the db but the status in the db is dependent on the polling period and last poll.
-
Hi Donald, Obvoiusly this is not optimal for our customers. Thanks for posting your workaround. Can you open a ticket on this so we can get it sorted? Please post the ticket number back here. Thanks- Andy
