Not today, but you're not the first one to ask for that ability. I'll mark it for the PM to see.

Hi Nick, For the SQL server see this tip . I would not recommend using all 8 drives up with 4 RAID 1 pairs. Using 2 for c:, 2 for d: and 4 for f: would give much better performance. NCM can share the DB server but will have it's own database. SQL express will only work for very small deployments. You should seriously…

This is true. The Orion SQL database on a vm is unsupported. NPM on a vm is supported. Allow the same virtual hardware settings as listed in the NPM Admin Guide for a physical server.

Thanks John!

Set the minimum memory in SQL so it will have the amount you want always available. And for $10 you could put the data files on ramdisk and get a huge boost.
-
Take a look at the Advanced Alerts Technical Reference. It explains how the ANY and ALL options map to SQL AND and OR.
-
Yes - you are correct. The all requires the node to exist and be down so it will work.
-
Keep in mind that any table edits may be lost on upgrade or by running Configuration Wizard against the database.
-
You don't have to upgrade Orion to improve db performance. What is your db server configuration now? Stand- alone, SAN. What is the drive configuration?

Port 161 is required between the netflow source and the Orion NTA server. This is so Orion can SNMP manage the node, a requirement of managing it with NTA. Here are the steps you shoud take. Add the Netflow sources as managed nodes in Orion. If this fails then make sure port 161 is allowed between Orion and the exporters.…

Robert, Sent you a PM for more info. Trying to replicate but need your feedback. Andy

That shoud do the trick.

How about if you built it once then could place the resulting graph on the interface view so you wouldn't have to do it again? What I'm thinking is that there are hundreds of different charts you could make with Traffic view builder, so it's tough for me to guess which ones should be pre-built.

Looks like 4.7 and 4.6 and 3.6, 3.7 flip status upon failure. I betting it is from .9 = active and .10 = standby. So you might want to alert both - one turned active, the other turned inactive. Andy

Here's the KB on that. http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/2124/What+files+and+directories+should+I+exclude+from+antivirus+protection+to+ensure+adequate+file+access+for+Orion+products%3F

That is one I can't test. Can you open a ticket and post back the ticket number and results? Thanks!
-
Run the Config Wizard and that should fix it.
-
It is hard to tell so far but you can explain what you are seeing and find out if there is a new MIB or changes to the existing one that could explain the false readings. Chances are the either there is an altered agent/MIB or the agent on these devices has problems.

Hi ekdge, If you are looking for some ability of feature the product does not have today, Mav is the right guy for that. BR - Andy

Running NPM and NTA on a virtual server is OK. SQL does not perform well for high I/O applications such as NTA when installed on a virtual server. That is why we don't support SQL on VM's. In the past, we have seen a lot of implementations with SQL on a VM and it has a very negative impact on NTA performance. Andy

Now I see. Unfortunately that is not one of the options. You had mentioned that these are reports for management. Does management really care if it is bps or % utilization? Also I have marked this for a pm to review as a possible feature.
-
Hi David, Did you get the hot fix for this?
-
Can you post an example?

Here is a good KB on this issue... http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=814

Please open a ticket if the resolution from the KB did not work.

There are advanced SQL alerts in NPM now. You could build it there, but the product Mav is sugggesting was created for use cases just like this one.

Please disregard - found your email

Data displays within the same minute as it is recieved.

Hi Mike, If you have the statistics polling set for 9 minutes then we only poll once every 9 minutes. I think the TimeDate stamp format is misleading in the view you show. Can you go to the interface detail page for the interface in question and click Edit on the Min/Max/avg pbs in/out chart. Then change the time period to…
