even worse was specifically circumventing the "don't track me" features in Safari and claiming not to be doing it. People keep forgiving google because features are provided for "free" I personally don't want that kind of free

when did you answer the question? If it was after the reset you may have just got it wrong

I know enough bash scripting to be dangerous Powershell is next for sure though

the idea of spending Cisco money on base level appliance lighting is crazy - as you say, a white box switch is fine, but not Cisco thanks. As rschroeder has already mentioned. Once you're powering all these things from the data closets, all that power has to come from somewhere and most data closets just don't have either…

None of my Devs have any chance of being able to figure out Ops - so this will almost certainly never happen for me. Sorted

I OK with most of that - except for the "wait for users to complain" part. Thing I always try to remind folks of is that the services we are providing only exist for serving the needs of the business. If its a battle between the needs of the business and a technically perfect server utilization curve - the business wins…

grateful to have you keeping everything on track Kristen, you are very much appreciated here

Oh for sure for the DBA comments and fully agree. But I was meaning that I still have to hire and retain an admin for the linux OS - which is much more costly and harder to retain.

modern data visualizations are (mostly) getting better and better. Recently attended a class about it that spent a lot of time talking about static/printed visualization - fascinating subject when you realize the impact, especially when you connect it to UI design. It ain't just about making stats look pretty - its about…
