I was able to take screenshots of the cisco stencils I have in visio and import them into Network Atlas. I used snagit and then saved it has a wmf file or gif. All depends on how you want to add the image to your map. C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Network Atlas\Maps\NetObjects\Networking Icons\Cisco (wmf) C:\Program…

is there a SAM template for ISE?

We have snmp traps setup on our switches. I still am at a lost of why on the APE the interfaces vanish. I did make an acl with the wildcard mask and then even do each poller individually as well. Nothing did work. Thanks for the link. I am still digging to figure out the why. Also pending response from SW support on what…

no that I am aware of. Not sure where to look for that at since I was not here when the environment was set up. We do not have anything in our firewall to prevent that.
-
yes i am sure. The only thing I am doing is adding nodes to solarwinds and selecting the APE rather than polling engine 1 Nothing on the switches would block the interfaces from showing up in solarwinds

thanks that worked now when I verify connectivity I get the error when using the Top 10 querry. Same error but new command. Get-SwisData -SwisConnection $SwisConnection -Query "SELECT TOP 10 Caption, IPAddress FROM Orion.Nodes" Get-SwisData: An error occurred when verifying security for the message.
-
I get the error below trying to validate Im connected to the querry. I did not use the .local, i just used the my orion environment.domain and logged in with the domain creds which has admin rights. Any help would be appreciated. Get-SwisData: An error occurred when verifying security for the message.

will that work if Im starting from scratch? I did something similar at my last job, but that was when I first started there about 7 years ago.
-
Do you have a step by step to make the nodes by device type up down critical boxes? It has been a while since I dug into custom dashboards. I really like this implementation.
-
I like this. I would like to make a dashboard like this.
-
thank you. I will try that option. What I did do was monitor specific interfaces like you described. Then I put a wildcard description on the interface which I used in the datasource rule. As an example all monitored interface have a description on the switch as monitor me-xxxxxxx . So in the rule interface type = ethernet…

I use that now. I was hoping they was something that would dig deep like report writer. I am trying to run a report for a switch sfp optics, but so far I only see that being able to work with NCM which I do not have. Thank you both for responding.
-
is the cisco card data report part of Orion or is this part of the cloud/hybrid functionality?
-
A view would be good too. Do you have one I can see how it looks or how to create one
-
Yes I tried all options when using UDP. WHen I dod the SNMP Walk I get .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.6.2 = HEX-STRING: xxxxxxxxxxxx I think the post you gave me did help. I am testing it now against my devices. I will send an update soon. Thanks
-
i added what you provided and change the veritable to the site to what I am trying to query and got an error.
-
Thanks I changed it to this. Do you know what other scheme I can use to get the correct alert or is this alert even needed in your opinion? I do have it setup to tell me when a battery needs to be replaced and get false positive on that alert as well.
-
The alert just lets us know if the scheduled self-test on the battery pass or fails. Then we can start looking into an issue with the software or device having issues. Is there a better alert scheme I should use by your recommendations?
-
I got it to work. Thanks for all your help. Do you think the on demand videos are helpful or would it be better to do a live class?
-
When I do sh ver this model appears C3560CG-8PC-S. Then when I go to cisco its directs me to that same IOS.
-
Do you know why the software did not update when I did the push from NCM? The job completed without any errors. Backup Exisitng Firmware Image flash:/c3560c405ex-universalk9-mz.122-55.EX2/c3560c405ex-universalk9-mz.122-55.EX2.bin ... copy…

Is there a way once I add a node into Orion and publish the NCM creds that it can be automatically set in the backup role? I just 300+ cisco nodes (switches, routers, wlc, firewalls) into the latest version of Orion coming from version 2015.1.2 I used a test site and added in each node to a backup solution. Since we do…

Is there a way in NCM without a syslog to see who made changes?

When you look at the log details what errors displays.

thanks this helped alot

same model and code version?

I was able to get it work for the switches, but you will have to set a custom property to determine the device is a switch. Depending on the model and code depends on if the same OID will work for all. If you have different custom pollers then you should be able to use an and/or statement. And/OR unique name is equal to…
