Ciscokid- We hear you. Could you elaborate on specifics of what capabilities you need or expected?
-
Have you configured the collector service? http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/NetFlowAdministratorGuide.6.24.htm

Stopthe Job Scheduler and Job Engine Services. Then delete \Documents andSettings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine\ucdat1.xmland then run the services Tab from the Configuration Wizard. Detailed steps can be found in the KB- support.solarwinds.com/.../ProblemDetail.cfm

Dave- Unfortunately this can only be done with Orion at this time.
-
suggestion- try Running the Website portion of the Configuration Wizard to resolve this.
-
I think there is an echo in here.....
-
jds- If you're using Net-SNMP, try upgrading to the latest version or reinstalling/uninstalling it-
-
Butch- Could you elaborate on the issue you have now so someone might be able to offer current suggestions? This thread dates back to last summer and some of these issues may have been addressed since then.

Yes. This software has a bug. Apparently with IE6 and no SP2 installed there are issues. Use FireFox until we can get this patched. http://communityserver.org

First try deleting the SNMPv2-MIB portion of the condition and on the the Alert actions tab add 'Color the Trap with this background color (RED)....or how you wish. In the Rule configuration for the email action, do you have an email address specified for the reply address? How many people are you trying to send the email…

Jon- sounds great! Do keep us posted. That Repair feature resolves many issues.
-
Wink- www.wtcs.org/.../snmp4nt.htm I've found this link? Just to clarify, the problem is that you can retrieve the data that you specifically request, but Orion isn’t showing it as one of the available OIDs on that device? It seems like some issue with how that extension agent is registered, especially since net-snmp…

Run the diagnostics tool and from the results look in the DB folder - > AlertTestLog.csv and also the AlertTest.csv for any clues.

You might wish to open a support ticket so they can troubleshoot the specific issues you are seeing-

Try this http://www.solarwinds.com/resources/democenter/Toolsets/Toolset9netflowRealtime/Toolset9netflowRealtime.html
-
For now try the Top East Coast Link - we are addressing the login issue-

Correct- the {PercentLoss} variable is based on ICMP packet loss %- For interfaces you would use something like -${InPercentUtil} , ${OutPercentUtil} ${OutDiscardsToday} or others from this list http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/OrionAdministratorGuide.1.326.htm
-
Is this a VLAN? One suggestion to try. If you're using V9 (from the Website ) or in V8 from the Orion system manager, go to the 6500 device & browse to the interface level. Right click & select Interface details. On the top, check the Transmit bandwidth & Receive Bandwidth. If they are incorrect, put a check mark for…

If you want to use the date-time settings for your region, you must edit the web.config file located in C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds, by default. For example, insert the following line after the <system.web> element to display the date-time setting in the UK format: <globalization culture="en-GB" uiCulture="en-GB"/>. For more…

Support has a hotfix for something similar. http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/HotFix/IPAM-v2.0.1-HotFix1.zip

Verify all of the Clocks of the Polling Engines, do the Polling Engines and Orion come within 2 Minutes of the SQL server, as well as same Day, Year, and Time Zone?
-
This is strange behavior. Possibly try a Add/Remove - Repair and /or just run the Website portion of the Configuration Wizard.
-
What happens when you test it? Is it just showing "no data" for that device in the web console?
-
Not sure what is going on, but there is a KB for that specific error that increases the memory- http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/2372/How+do+I+fix+a+java.lang.OutOfMemory+in+the+GUI+when+viewing+a+large+set+of+ungrouped+file+types%3F

Make sure the "Alert me whenever status changes" box is NOT checked on the Alert Trigger tab. This will not impact your alerts but can help prevent false messages from coming through.

This thread was about Licensing Issues. Diagnosing an issue is just that, an exercise in diagnostics. Trial and error is the name of the game here, so expect to wander down some paths that end up being dead ends. Effective tech support personnel are able to quickly pare down the list of possible causes to a problem, and…

You will need to open a Support Ticket, and we will add them to the Database, and the Support Technician will notify you when they are available. Adding new MIBs to the SolarWinds MIB Database does not automatically add monitoring or additional functionality other than for Traps. Adding MIBs will help you if you are using…

Sam- This might be caused by a malformed query- A couple of suggestions to try are: 1. 1. 1. Edit the AlertingEngine.exe.config file. Find this section: <logger name="UpdateTriggeredRows"> <additivity value="true" /> <level value="NONE" /> </logger> And change NONE to ALL. That will increase the logging and should let us…

* Yes, you can keep your old DB and stats- * Uninstall all the previous versions and then * Reinstall 8.5 and then point to the old database while running the Configuration Wizard or you can uninstall everything and reinstall orion and then create new database and then migrate over your old DB over using the SQL Mgnt.…
