My final suggestion would be to re-install toolset version 8 and then uninstall again. When it asks you do you want to remove unused files, click no. Once the uninstall is completed see if this error still exists. You might need to run the version 9 installer once more.

hmmmm, well you may not be alone. Check the event log for any error codes: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsserver2008r2general/thread/b88ac106-a729-41d5-a194-d0b4ca68dbd8 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950923/en-us

JDS- the ticket # you referenced is closed. The last entry from the rep was "Worked with customer via a goto meeting, and problem appears to be an Orion 8.5 bug, was able to resolve via changing of permissions."If this is not the case and you wish to re-open the ticket send an email to the ticket and the rep will get it.

yes it will be very soon.

Sorry about that- the list I attached is what is currently supported.

PS. I am not able to enter some IP addresses either. For example 10.10.0.100 gets translated to 10.10.0.10 when I try to add this new node. There is a small issue with adding Nodes in 8.1. If the node’s IP address ends in an octet of .100 or .200, then Orion will drop the last 0 of the IP before trying to communicate with…

It is no longer available to download. Denny can probably provide you a better explanation when he returns next week.

Sorry about the confusion. This ability is scheduled in a future release.

You will need to enter the IP Address of the primary Orion server and the Orion account and password with administrative priviledges.
-
good- I've heard Netsuite is running a little sluggish today.
-
Yes I misunderstood - that is not an option within the syslog viewer. Passing variables- I'm not exactly clear on what you are trying to achieve-

Simon- Thanks for bringing this up. It looks like an error on our end here. I'll see if the DEV team might have a workaround for you.

If the DNS service is unable to resolve the signed .net runtime components of the following tools you may experience delayed start times, could this be the case? Are you using a mapped drive as a destination location?

From the DB Manager locate that node in the restored DB nodes table. You will need to use Sql to gather all of the pertinent information from the various tables based of the NodeID in question Select * From Nodes WHERE NodeID = 'X' Select * from InterfaceTraffic_detail where NodeID = 'X' .... You will need to query the…

For the SSL try this workaround. Edit \Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\custom.config and change the port to 443. As for the Netsuite submit- It tested fine on this end in both browsers. Support is receiving ticket submissions. Not sure how locked down your network is but it appears to be something related on your end- You might…

You need to have a copy of the toolset installed on each machine you want to launch the tools on from the Orion web interface.

It looks like the DB was corrupted possibly. Have you tried recovering from a known good backup or perform DBCC CHECKDB ? msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa258278(SQL.80).aspx
-
That is not possible because that data is not in the Orion DB.

Can you manually start/test the job? You can run a session trace by performing the following steps. Cirrus Mgr-> File-> Settings-> Scroll down to Advanced -> Select Session Trace. Take note of the file name in the dialog box. Run the job and produce the trace.
