Brian, I am investigating... -Craig

With the release of 10.1 we added the ability to poll through vCenter directly. You should be able to get statistics on any hosts managed under a vCenter by polling that vCenter. You can manage these settings on the new VMware settings page. I'm checking with engineering to see if there is anything we can recommend to…

Is this APM or NPM?

If you change the Property Refresh Policy to "Keep old values on rescan", the fields should become editable..

What type of IP SLA operation are you trying to create? The scenario you described is possible today as long as the source is an Orion node. You can specify the the source IP for the operation, even if it's different than the default IP that Orion knows about. For certain operations you can specify an external target…

A little more data would help here. Could you provide a little more detail on the 'great stuff' that CUOM is doing for you? What are the specific business problems you're trying to solve?
-
Impaler, this is not possible in the product today, but I have logged it as a feature request. Just so I'm clear, you want to be alerted on the average MOS score for the operations running at that site, correct? The value we currently display for the site is the average of the operations running on that device. Thanks!…

mrjibbles, Could you please open a support ticket (reference this thwack thread) and submit diagnostics? Diagnostics will help us investigate. Thanks! Craig

Hi Ralph, I did a little more digging and it turns out this is a known issue that we'll be looking at fixing in a future release. -Craig
-
I would open a support ticket.

Have you tried using an SNMP monitor? If SNMP is enabled on your Windows Server, the lightweight SNMP Monitor tests an SNMP agent's ability to respond to an information request, as well as its level of responsiveness. ipMonitor measures round trip time by sending a request for a fixed piece of information, sysUpTime oid…

Matt, We made some improvements to the way we do RPC polling in the 4.0.2 service release. Have you had a chance to upgrade? HTH, Craig

Stijn, The calculation for response time includes the time required to connect to the remote node, open a SQL connection, log into SQL, and finally execute the query. In other words APM isn't just measuring the time it takes for the SQL query to execute, it's measuring the entire time it takes the monitor to complete its…

Hi Eric, IP SLA Manager adds to the current VoIP functionality to support other IP SLA operations. The VoIP functionality will remain in IP SLA Manager (by no means do we have any plans of abandoning VoIP). We will continue to listen to the Thwack community and the rest of our customers, and add IP SLA and VoIP…

netwiz2007- This is something we're actually working on for a future release. See my post here. -Craig

Can you give us your ticket number that you've opened w/ Support?

Your best bet is to open a support ticket and they should be able to get you fixed up. -Craig

Dr Zoidberg, How long ago did you create the operations, and what frequency did you specify? -Craig

Thanks for sharing, dfsadmin!

Thanks for the feedback. Which mobile device are you using?
-
Do you mean the -v TOS (Type of Service) option? It's my understanding this setting has been deprecated and has no effect on the type of service field in the IP header. -Craig

Hi Jason, Take a look at these posts; they might help. Let me know if that's not what you're looking for. -Craig

This is a feature we would very much like to implement in a future release. We get many, many requests for this. We are definitely tracking this as a feature request. Thanks! -Craig

To answer your first question, VQManager is only for monitoring VoIP call quality, which is but a subset of the many things you can do with IP SLA. Orion IP SLA Manager supports VoIP monitoring, but it also supports quite a few other IP SLA operations that can help you assess the health of your network. One of our…

v10 is compatible with Server 2008 64 bit. Checking on your second two questions...

John, We moved your post to the Alert Lab. Our resident Alert expert (Andy) suggested the following: The line “node status not equal to down” is unnecessary since there is a implicit dependency that implements that. Remove that line and try again. HTH, Craig

The general answer is we don't currently support those stats in the VoIP module. We tried getting this information (basically polling the PRI MIB); however, we discovered that this data isn't supported on some gateways. Is this data a must-have for you? How would you use it?
-
curtiplas, I suggest opening a support ticket (and reference this post). Support should be able to walk you through your alert configuration and get it working as expected. If there is an issue, they'll be able to log that as a bug as well. HTH, Craig

Please open a support ticket.
