There should be something called service tag in "hardware details" area that shows you the serial number. Also within the database the table you need to look is NodesCustomProperties SerialNumber

Would you then say the benefits of a stacked APE only works out on blades? Our Primary poller is on the application server which is a physical server - we didnt want an APE but the load was getting high and slowing down with elements being polled and the APE out at another site on another physical box. The benefits with…

I had bookmarked a thread on here myself as i wanted to set up some alerting and this one also relates to the Nexus 7k and 5k https://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/60633

UPS's temperature humidity any other hardware that requires specific TLC and needs custom pollers sorting out stacked switch status of each member
-
Do you have the suite or just SAM ? Try a custom table and select advanced selector
-
There is also a thread relating REST API help

We use Orion for most things NPM,NCM, SRM,DPA,SAM,NTA,IVIM,UD,QOE But I was wondering (and to try convert our DB's) what it is like for deep monitoring of databases? Does it allow you to dig deep into it - a question for the DB's out there using Orion and which product.
-
10466 elements on our primary and 500 odd on the other as we are moving some over but goes to show 10k is about the max
-
im not sure how familiar you are with Orion but there are several ways to do this quickly. The fastest bulk way is to go to Settings -> manage nodes -> in the very left column before name you should see an > which you can drop down to select the interfaces (etc) not used and tick them and click delete.

I've noticed when I've gone to the next version, that it 'stops' you from installing other products before the one it wants or advises for you to install. So you shouldn't be able to get them in the wrong order. The additional poller, there is a bundle you can use to upgrade to the next version which have worked for me.

You can create maps using network atlas which gives you a good overall view with nodes dropped onto the map or server rack or what ever you wish to display as an over view
-
If you edit the page 'customise page' then click on the plus to add a resource. then search for custom and select one of the following..
-
As above there is a report but you can also use Custom table and use the Dynamic Query Builder to build it for you, as below which then will give you resizable column widths. In this i've selected class 10 but class 3 gives you the above info. This is from the report builder by the way which you can use in the custom table

I've recently asked the question as I was after displaying the entities on the node, which i presume is the what you are trying to do? This for me was a better solution: SELECT EntityID, EntityName, EntityDescription AS [Description], Serial, ContainedIn, EntityClass AS [Class], Position, HardwareRevision,…
-
I've also found that you can do the same with the 3850 as well, which is great as there is currently no stack info,

Hi there I've been looking at this not too long ago and found this article and code very useful SolarWinds NPM - Tutorial on how to use SNMP traps in alerts
-
I've also noticed that in SAM that in the component monitors there are latency monitors- in this case i've seen them in relation to Skype for business.
-
Something like this after Bulk Node Name/Caption Change I cant say I have the above option as that was in a beta version
-
You can always import the nodes as you was via discovery and then script adding the node name aftewards to the matching IP address.
-
in my case, when trying to get one working with a custom property this was what I used. ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.CustomProperties.NodeRoom}
-
I thought that had gone, better in the web interface and more intuative.
-
We tend to use an extension within the caption of all the switches and routers so for edge switches they have the switch name -'esw' so we can sort by that within the groups We tend to use a custom field for the node room, building, campus, team-responsible. Groups are set up for dynamic so when a node is added it goes…

How about setting up an alert for ANY interface that goes above a threshold IE 90% ? are there some you wish to exclude?
-
You can also check that the sensors are actually turned on.... settings - Manage hardware sensors Ohh and also as you appear to have so much missing, run the config wizard again as it might help with such problems.
-
You dont have to delete the old nodes - you can go into the node properties within network atlas and re associate them with the new node - ie open the old node properties - status - and from the left side drag the new node details into it. Just drag the new node to this area and it will update the node
-
hiya What part of 'Solarwinds' are you installing? NCM, NPM, UDT, SAM ?
-
We to are seeing alerts in the web console for 'node not polled in the last 10 minutes' which has been happening since the upgrade. The rest didnt go too well with changes in the database which caused issues with our DBA guy but they have since been resolved and just the above outstanding - which means a reboot now and…

hiya ours seem to alert is this of any help to you? then the trigger section is:
-
So the issue is on the server you have assessed? Is the devices settings still set up ok? What's the polling method SNMP -WMI - Ping? Are all the services on Orion ok ? have you checked that they are all running using the Orion Service manager?
-
check the alert first to confirm you have actually set up email trigger - then check the SNTP server details and confirm they are correctly set up, as its just this node I presume they are? Try that:-
