When I performed this upgrade / migration, I completely left our SolarWinds agents as is on the servers they were installed on. Once I created the CNAME record of the old Orion server that points to my new one, the agents checked in and updated their version of the agent software automatically. The only thing you would…

Hey Bill, Understood and appreciate the comments. My intention with this post was specifically help anyone that might be under extreme pressure to get to the latest version. I'm sure we can all agree this was not on our Holiday wish list, especially mine, but felt I should at least offer what I can for anyone who has not…

Has anyone had any luck with getting their O365 / Azure monitored services showing up again after blocking Orion's access to the internet? We permitted the respective domains, but I'm still having trouble getting the scripts monitoring our Sharepoint online and Azure database instances to run. Fails with "unable to connect…

Tacking on to keep this on radar. I too was able to update to 2020.2.4 successfully, but my configuration wizard hung at 95.5% when doing the website optimization. Luckily at this point, while I know it's not preferred, I had the option to skip website optimization. My Orion server is now back online.

borgan is correct, but here is the link I found that actually explains this in detail: Orion MIB Database – What Is It Good For? And to quote it: "What, then, is the MIB database not used for, even though most people think it is? The most common belief is that the MIB database is used to identify devices. Orion NPM…

Sounds like something might be off with the OID's being polled then on these devices, if everything is correct already SNMP wise. When was the last time you have updated the MIB database for NPM? Below are some good links for getting network devices showing as 'Unknown' corrected. If you're able to get them into NPM and at…

Thanks. I have opened Case#:00063803 with support. I will update this thread with our findings.

SolarWinds Support.

Hmmm. I see this often with my servers since they tend to get vMotioned every now and again and NPM is unable to detect the change of the NIC. What kind of device is this being polled?

I'm here to hopefully return the favor and save a life. These are my template settings for the template I was creating that were corrected because of this post. Are you using RPC as the fetch method? For some reason when I had it set to WMI, it refused to acknowledge anything in the event log I needed.

I ended up opening a ticket with support shortly after I commented and they sent me the buddy drop to resolve this issue also. Thanks for the link to your post though. Super thorough!

Okay so I just did exactly that. Created a text file with jibberish and gave it a ".bin" extension. So I have the following template being used for this, mimicking keles image above: As mentioned in the original post, the most important part of this is the "archive download-sw" command. I am using the "/leave-old-sw"…

Thanks for saving a life.

Hi Isalinas, As far as what the close code numbers specifically reference is beyond me as I don't have access to this portion of our Service-Now instance. What I do know is that what ever the closing state you specify in the state management section of the incident creation trigger of SolarWinds must match the close code…

That's a really good factor to incorporate, but unfortunately no. Our Orion server, and the SQL server housing the Orion DB, are both housed in the same data center that is located within the same timezone as the browser / machines we are using to run the reports. Is there any way at all to view the SQL query being…

Can you explain how you created the "ciscopseudoios.bin" file? Did you just name a text file with a .bin extension?
-
You'll want to open up a ticket with support and let them know. They have a hotfix they can send that resolved this issue for me.

Select the troubled node within the "Manage Nodes" section of NPM. Then click "List Resources" if you have the option to force a refresh after the listed resources for that node show up, do this as well. Are they still showing as unknown?
-
Hey Shack, Yes, they do. I'm not sure which specifically codes 7 and 8 reference, but for my particular situation, I was using the "Solved (Permanently)" so our ServiceNow Administrator needed to add the close code of (3) in the SolarWinds Integration Preferences as shown by LadaVarga. I then have our ServiceNow alert…

Did this but nothing comes up. The project has definitely been saved as I can load the project when I go back into the Perfstack Analysis section. I even created a second one and saved it just as another test. I also noticed when I search for the widget, I cant find it under Type > Charts, Features > Performance Analysis,…

Did you use Network Atlas do design these?
-
I really like the world map you are using. Mind sharing how you were able to do that?
-
Did you use custom UNDPs for this? This is fantastic.
-
May I ask how you were able to accomplish the pop-up device listing for each location?

I've answered my own question. I performed a SNMP-Walk of the Talari SD-WAN appliance using SolarWinds SNMP Walk tool. This created a text file of all the OID's responding from the walk of the device along with the output that the OID provides. I then Logged onto the Talari appliance and located the information I needed,…

The information provided by LadaVarga about adding the proper close codes within the Solarwinds properties of the SeviceNow integration, along with making sure that you have the "Reopen State" set to "None" within the trigger condition of the Solarwinds incident creation alert, resolved my issue.

We're having this issue AGAIN after upgrading our Isilon's to 8.0.0.6. We had this issue previously when we upgraded our Isilons and is was fixed with an updated of SRM. We are currently on SRM 6.6. Any updates from working with support?
-
You're the hero we needed all along.
-
Were you ever able to find the OIDs for Talari devices? Currently looking for an OID that pulls the serial numbers from these devices.

Just so you know, you're not going crazy. I too have also noticed this, but just recently. I have monthly availability reports being generated via SolarWinds and just so happened to notice that my percentages were off this month. It turns out that when I run the Out-Of-The-Box "Availability - Last Month" report in Orion…
