Marc, Sorry if I still sound confused. I'm trying to see it in my mind and draw it out to get an understanding but having trouble. Here is where I hit a snag. In my situation lets say I have a node down alert. This alert is to catch all devices in general that have a down status. The trigger condition is set to all devices…

Chill, relax, put our feet up on our desk's and watch our network guys sweat. We are only responsible for internal employee facing systems. Teams around us are responsible for the rest. So how does my team handle the insanity, easy....we don't !!! hahahahahaha.

Feel free to list any OS you might need agent monitoring on. I think the more we can include here the more the developers and product managers might be willing to consider this.

Bump... People aren't seeing how great this feature can be. But I'm hoping to catch the eye of a product manager or developer. Would be nice to have this implemented.

I worked along side with my Unix admin and we noticed that all AIX said 99% of ram was used when really the number was closer to 12%. But apparently AIX version of Unix is complicated in that they decided to break memory down into multiple components. Free, used, available, etc. So while technically yes 99% is used, it…

Right. The point is not to just strictly automate the process. But rather offer an alternate option to the current option to allow automation if the environment needs it. We have a problem where if we move devices to a different poller they stop polling but come to figure out that this was an internal problem. Network guys…

My feature request above is somewhat similar to the one here. Except it builds on a concept of having options to enhance and enrich the export and import for IPAM. You have my upvote. I'm hoping I can get some to if those reading this comment like the idea and concept behind my request. thanks,

I've edited this feature request a bit to hopefully provided a clearer message and added tags to be easier to find. I've been seeing feature requests for export and import so I know it's a hot item I'm hoping to have considered.

I hear that SolarWinds has this in the works! Will they close out this idea once it's implemented? Looks like someone above commented on an idea similar to mine that was put in before me.

From our experience the Export and import feature is limited. You can't export hierarchy. The only thing you can export is subnets and information within the subnet. I would say you should give that a try and see if it gives you the information you need. You should see the export in the ip management page. This feature…

Bumping! Better native AIX monitoring is a plus. Having to use workaround monitoring to get what we want out of the system defeats the purpose of owning this software if it won't natively offer it. I mean it does have AIX support but it's weak right now and requires a customized SAM template just to get the right…

The report writer is weak. The web reporter is lacking. I'm wondering how people get reports done in solarwinds. The basics of reporting is not there. I was trying to build a very simple interface availability report. Couldn't do it. Even with the help of my sql admin I couldn't get it done. First there isn't a time stamp…

Turns out Oracle 7.2 is already in testing and proven to work with Agent, SolarWinds just hasn't made it official yet. And they are aware agent does not work for Oracle 7.3. Good to know that at least they have some additional OS versions in process of potentially being added in later versions.

I hear good things coming down the line for vman and npm integration like having vman native integrated into npm. I heard it's in the works so I'm hoping sooner rather than later we'll get to enjoy the goodies.

That's great to hear! Today, I took the time to put a bunch of ideas out there. Mainly I think that if only key items where taken from the alert central and the native alert engine was revamped adding these key features that would already suffice as a really great turn for limited basic alerting to something more robust…

serena I don't know if your the right person to comment on this. But do you know if any of the product managers on the IPAM maybe considering something similar to this? The idea came up after me and a group of people needed over three weeks to transition over 500 k IP's from our old solarwinds to our new environment.…

I want to upgrade. But it's getting frowned upon by upper management. And they really aren't willing to approve a change control for this currently. We have way to many troubles right now with the system as it is. And they want to see this stabilized before any changes will be approved. Thank you though. I appreciate it.

We have a model that is Alerts trigger -> NOC triage all funneled alerts (Nothing goes directly to the teams but comes into this one point then funnels out to different teams) -> Tickets are created and teams notified -> NOC acknowledges the alert. Problem is, once acknowledge there is no follow up. And the system can't…

I am trying, but traction has been hard to get on this. views as well. Not sure if I setup this request incorrectly.

Please oh please solarwinds! These are the voices of engineers and administrators and users alike, and this would be a gift! I've been fighting this forever. Big up vote from me!

Import / Export a weak point for solarwinds across many products. They really need to strength this function across all products. +1
