-bump- Anybody??

I think the Nexus only supports MIBs v2. Although, I don't have a Nexus, here's a good source to check out Nexus MIBs/OIDs, which are all v2. That OLD-CISCO-INTERFACES...OID, I saw listed as being v1. And it appears there are a few areas to look into for CRCs, depending on using 10 Gb/s, fiber ports, ethernet, RMON, .etc…

We only have 300 plus alerts - and these are all over the spectrum too. Weird hours, Mountain and Central and Eastern among APM processes with weird thresholds, etc. And Orion alert-notifications spin like a top - no false positives. It's probably a result of a good product and not my alert design. :)

i would suggest you open a support case and let support walk you through using 'Repair' on your NPM installation. in most cases that seems to fix these type things. good luck...
-
would stopping and disabling this service help stop that? it did for me...

i've just upgraded to NTA 3.6 RC - the reports are faster but certainly not ideal yet. what took 20 minutes is down to 5 minutes. if Solarwinds NTA developers could match REPORT WRITER's Netflow reports to the Orion Netflow reports then our choices would improve. i need to do a Netflow report with only business hours for a…

Try to use Orion System Manager and navigate to the Node, expand it and navigate to the interface (Inbound) then right click that interface and select Interface Details. Inside that view will be a field name Interface ID. You should see a unique number for that interface. Depends on how many interfaces you have that it…

Go to ADMIN, WEB CONSOLE SETTINGS and there's a spot for page refresh (in minutes). It says for each page refresh - my experience is this - some times it does & some times it doesn't. As for linking to your maps. First open the map in your browser then capture the URL text and use this to link to your map - link by using…

I'm living with the very same issue. I'm actually forcing this in three emails and one will end up having the chart. It seems to be a crap shoot.
-
i don't know that they have their own refresh time, but i have four custom reports on my home screen and they refresh and update whenever it refreshes. do you have those reports placed in the folder \REPORTS?

I don't think you'll be able to add-to the Down Nodes view itself and thereby add anything. These are 'canned' resource views which are often unchangable. However, I can think of one option which I use a lot... Instead of using that existing Down Nodes view, you can build your own. What you might try is to make a…

assuming in addition to SNMP TRAP Service it has the SNMP Service running also, try this in the Security tab for Accept SNMP packets from these hosts... put the 'localhost' inside the SNMP settings. i've known this to work in some cases.
-
Have you looked at that server's SNMP SERVICE settings? Maybe if you uncheck Send Authentication Trap it may help you. I've seen network traffic cause this when another application somewhere out on the network is querying the server with SNMP GET packets but the SNMP Communitry String in those packets is incorrect. Thus it…

Yep - I agree - it's hard to believe it doesn't exist. I have to do it using the Universal Device Poller and create it as a Table in the Node Details View. It's not pretty but that does work. Have you tried using UnDP yourself?
-
first thing i think of is this, but it could be wrong - in the Program To Execute action did you use the full path name to your program, like: C:\Program Files\DoThis.exe myparameters_here or even enclose it in quotes "C:\Program Files\DoThis.exe myparameters_here" these Execute External Program actions are real tricky and…

here's some food for thought... hopefully this pasted link will work for you. i don't think you'll need a TAC account to get to it.…

this might be worth looking into - supposedly works with Vista - it uses TCP and not NetBios http://www.fomine.com/net-send-gui.html

:) I guess NOAA read my post and got that WARNING MAP working again...it still works! Thanks for your reply.

i've been using Visio 2007 with output to JPG for backgrounds. I also put variables for CPU - MEMORY - etc on the Orion maps to show current performance states. here's some good reference sites i've used for product stencils (HP Dell Cisco Avocent etc). This screenshot is just one row of racks but you should get the idea.…

Have you tried it as this: $mail.to.add("test@gmail.com")

i've seen it change colors when it really should not when i edit the Column Width in Manage Views - i know its strange, but how about adjusting that Column Width size and see if it corrects it for you?
-
would this report be any help to you? of course, it is for outstanding reports and not historical. i just added some other lines to something someone else started. SELECT AlertStatus.ObjectName as Node, AlertStatus.TriggerTimeStamp as Time, AlertDefinitions.AlertName, AlertStatus.AcknowledgedBy FROM AlertStatus,…
-
i'm not certain i am on target with what you are asking here but i will take a shot at it... here's a report i made with the time frame of TODAY (could be any other) for all Cisco nodes with the Custom NODE Property of Department.Name 'wide%' i also used Report Grouping inside this report (it looks best with grouping). it…

They are all spread around in various SQL tables. And I know where you're coming from - I also have this need for over 300 alerts in the event we need to rebuild. I've exported to Excel spreadsheets only to save some organization information about all these alerts. A timely process... Orion needs some type of global…

Found my solution by using the APM Performance Counters model. It didn't give me the individual virtual connectors but I could get the total queue length. It works like charm.
-
Put me on this list...I dislike this behavior too! MAYBE the next release fixes it!! :)
-
i simulated your OID in my Trap Editor and tested it. did yours look anything like this? what was your condition received?
-
is this on Windows 2008 Server? it ate our lunch for a long time with port issues until... you might look into this area (suggested to me by another Thwack citizen): Take a look at Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center and verify your network type. Depending of your network type, the firewall of Windows 2008 will…

My first experience with Orion's SYSLOG was terrible, but that was using NPM 8.x. It wasn't until around release NPM 9.1 SP5 that I tried it again and it works like a charm. You probably need to set up any RULE in the Orion interface named SYSLOG VIEWER. This is the area I define all my filtering and it always works and is…

Check out this thread and see if it helps. A some point in applying updates to my NPM I started having these type issues with ESX and it's VM systems. I had to go through all user accounts and make adjustments between these BY DEVICE TYPE and NODE DETAILS VIEW. Good Luck.
