Moving from CP to Palo Alto. Wish there was some additional monitoring.

I was recently told that having components in a down or unknown state adds extra load on the polling engines? Is that true, and if so, can we get this updated please? Thanks!
-
We would also like to see the node color change to yellow when a module has failed in a modular switch or router.

Hi, Just confirming that if we add "MultiSubnetFailover=Yes" to the connection string in the SWNetperfmon.db files (on all of the polling engines and the web server, we should just be able to point at the listener and when our database primary fails over we won't have to restart services? We already have the initial…

The issue had been persistent, but I believe that I resolved this issue by recreating the PK_VoipCCMPhoneStats_Detail index on the VoipCCMPHoneStats_Detail table in SQL Server Management Studio (right click, script index as, drop and create to, new query editor window) and run the query. 2012-01-11 03:08:51,739 [1] INFO…

My apologies, I should have specified that we are running the following versions: Orion Core 2011.2.1, APM 4.2.0 SP1, IPSLAMGR 3.5.1, NCM 6.1, NPM 10.2.1, NTA 3.8.0, IVIM 1.2.0 I believe these are the latest. Any idea what the specific changes were to Data Retention?

We are seeing this portion of our daily maintenance taking 1.25 hours while the rest of the maintenance combined only takes 1 hour. Did you ever get a resolution to this? 2012-01-10 02:58:25,918 [1] INFO SolarWinds.Data.DatabaseMaintenance.MaintenanceEngine - Summarizing detailed data from VoipCCMPhoneStats 2012-01-10…

We did receive the hot fix. It is my understanding that we need to update to the latest Release Candidate and then apply the hotfix. As we just upgraded to 10.1, we are discussing internally if this is the right path to take at this time. It is our understanding that there is no downgrade path from the RC back to 10.1. In…

Thank you!

We are seeing something similar but it is on a different table and different column. What was the fix to this? This is our error: Updating packaging system for database FAILED Database configuration failed: • Exception while configuring plugin Orion Core Services component Orion Database. Column names in each table must be…

Ok, it sounds like your issue is different than ours. We do have opened a ticket with support and they are looking at this as a bug fix. You might want to open a case as well. Thanks,

Is there an ETA on the next release of core and is it confirmed that there will be a fix for this released in the next version of Core? Can someone from SolarWinds development/support respond to this.

I have been unable to find a thread related to this comment you made above, "It's also unfortunate that the only hardware information reported on the 3850's are temperature sensors but that's a different gripe and topic post if so inclined". Therefore I did create a thread for this here:…

Thanks for posting on this. We are getting the issue again as well and i'll let everyone know the workaround.

Brandon, Is there something special that we have to do to get the export to pdf link working correctly? We have changed the URL that users connect to and installed a certificate that matches that URL. Thanks,
-
I do see data.

I read through that post previously and it appears to relate only to the temperature being reported incorrectly as well as generating alerts. We have those issues as well, but I'm more concerned with being able to actually see the status of Fans and Power on the 3850s. I posted in that thread to see if anyone has…

We have changed the View for unknown devices (i.e. ICMP nodes) to "(default)" several times, but the device type for Unknown devices keeps changing back to "Wireless Autonomous AP". Is there some way to set this so that it will stay "(default)"? Thanks,

Has the location of these files changed in NPM 10.2? I'm not seeing any logs since we upgraded over the weekend, and I'm having difficulty determining if the database maintenance is running at all. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,

When attempting to enable https:// the following URL is coming through as unsecure which generates a prompt in IE8: http://localhost:17779/sw/toolset/render?1286313965439. It would appear that this is attempting to call the toolset on the client computer. Is there some way to disable this?

Have there been any updates on this? This would be very helpful in situations where Dell hardware is being used as an appliance platform by a vendor that doesn't support the installation of the Dell agents on the OS.
-
I had this error, and it was because the password being used to connect to the NPM database stored in this file: C:\program files (x86)\solarwinds\orion\swnetperfmon.db was not correct. I updated the password closest to the top of the file with notepad and saved the file. You should be able to rerun the configuration…

We are having the same issue, but we changed the URL of the site and added an SSL certificate. Did you change either of these things? Thanks, David.
-
This was fixed by removing an errant entry on the hosts file on the web server.

Here is the latest from support: Update for Case #211044 - "export to pdf not working" No, sorry have not heard any status back on this yet. There isn't a permanent fix for this.

We followed the steps above to copy the dll. It worked for a while then the issue came back. We then applied OrionPlatform-v2015.1.2-HotFix3 and the issue went away but came back again. We are now planning on installing the latest service pack (OrionPlatform-v2015.1.2-HotFix4). However reviewing the notes for Hotfix4…

Someone found a way to monitor this here: ASA Hardware Monitor

Has anyone from SolarWinds responded to this? We have an open ticket as we are experiencing the same issue with some fields being truncated. Apparently there are additional line breaks coming through which is causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions on a workaround?
