But I live in real-ville. If that is what it was supposed to say, then say that. Period. I can be educated but not in this way. We are technical people. Precision counts A LOT! I don't do nuance or esoteric very well. I wouldn't configure a port in a switch with VLAN 10? or VLAN 1?0 because they are pretty close. I…

I was out yesterday, read the hints and hints on hints but still got Q19 wrong! I spent an inordinate amount of time reading this useless material and none of it mattered. I might as well have guessed and spared myself 30 minutes. I found what I believe to be a dead hit with "Excessive Traffic from a source" but it was…

Ugh! Now we have to deal with MEAN = AVERAGE! This is NOT true. I wish whoever is doing these questions would be a LOT more precise in their wording. After all, this is a technical group. If you can't be precise, why bother?
-
OK, is it just me or is putting "except" and "not" in the same sentence an exercise in bad form? Then to provide a hint link that appears to be only tangentially related seems destined for a lot of red "X" today.
-
OK, that was one I'd already decided was a check. The first and third are questionable. Should this have been a radio button instead of a multi select? I can't tell heads or tails about what searching is possible and I believe the unfortunately named product has nothing to do with paper in any way, shape or form but I…

But when you start off with "The Outer Limits" premise, are we not to expect different answers? As others have stated, it is policy not to accept work requests that aren't accompanied by a ticket, ie ignore the user. That is 100% a valid response in any organization big enough to have a dedicated helpdesk group.
-
Agreed, hints are hopelessly out of focus even on a 27" monitor and enlarged.
-
It's the outer limits, why wouldn't I lie to them or ignore them? It makes just as much sense in bizzaro world as anything else. It's a nonsensical question, why not a nonsensical answer?
-
We basically have enough bandwidth to support a little uptick but most of use have our pet firewall up in a monitor to keep an eye on the usage. If we get complaints, we find the top problem maker and make sure it isn't an abuse of company resources. If it is, we just add a temp rule to block it until the end of the day.…

Based on this, I do not see any odd number as an answer. There eastexmbx01v, eastexmbx02v, westexmbx01v and westexmbx02v. The only even answer is 2 and that doesn't fit. The one is critical but is it or is it not communicating? This is too complex of a question for the demo as presented and has gone off the rails and into…

I absolutely despise this type of document. I hate having to take a real book, mark a spot and go look something up in the back and jump back. I hate it in online documents even more so. It destroys the flow of the piece. This is NOT how most human brains work. People read linearly, think linearly and live linearly. It…

Finally got it right. I selected the exact opposite of what I picked first thing this morning when the improperly included "NOT" was there. I've worked with compliance, PCI and HIPAA and was convinced I was right first thing.

As a child of the 60s, I grew up without actual computers, just the Star Trek stuff of dreams. I was a natural born gearhead, born of a drag racer father. I hot rodded my lawnmower that I used to make money in the summers. In high school, the guidance counselor pushed me toward computers because "you're good in math" but I…

Many years ago we had a file transfer that was failing to one certain machine. You could move the file to any other machine but not this one certain machine without it corrupting the file and crashing the process. We worked on this issue for several days until my boss had this crazy idea. He swapped the network cables…
-
I found it contradictory to the previous information provided and it does not make the question we are asked to answer any clearer. It says file server in the top half and file share on page 3. The question specifically says file share but I'm not trusting the question/hint as being accurate after the track record over the…

This last weekend, Black Friday 2019, I flew to Europe to help move a data center to a new location. Flew all night, landed in London at 6:50 AM and in the old data center by 11 AM UK time. We finished reconstructing what was left of the office without a data center so they could continue to work with a new core switch…

For those of us traveling and with little or no access to the Internet, it would be nice to open the Thursday and Friday questions early or postpone the close until Monday.
-
I would disagree on a few points based on my own experiences with other vendor community boards where inducements to participate varied between actual cash and gift cards to nothing at all. First, would you agree that Solarwinds is paying the staff to do this, either directly or indirectly? That makes this a marketing…

I missed today, #9. It apparently isn't 5 though when I clicked on policies it lists 5 of them. If I don't have the product and don't use it every day, I'm certainly not learning how it works and how to love it with this dastardly trickery of words and esoteric nonsense. When doing a search, workload does not appear any…

Oh good Lord! Today's hint is the WORST piece of documentation for a product I've seen in quite a while, which beats out the earlier attempts this week. I wouldn't give the PaperFAIL product more than a cursory glance and move on to something else based on this poorly thought out info. It simply isn't mature or useful.…

Every time we get a question like today or Monday, I take a star off the rating. I don't think this mission will have a star left from me at the end of the month.
-
I took the chance and it is literally what it says, additional.
-
I've been doing Cisco firewalls since the PIX version 4 days so this is a product I'm digging into.
-
Quite an unfortunate name though.
-
Technically, that isn't what it says: Week 2: Complete questions 6-10 by October 14 to be entered to win: The Albert Math Clock It merely states completing them. The monthly does indeed say "correctly" but the weekly doesn't include that key word.
-
My single worst month ever and I attribute it to poorly worded questions and gotcha tactics with products listed as both works with and doesn't work with on the same page. I'm done. No more missions for me. My time is better spent doing nothing.
-
You are exaggerating my answer and appear to be trying to create drama about something I clearly did not say. I'm done with this line of discussion.
-
Now that is red!
-
What is the "red ribbon" referred to in the hint? In microsoft speak, that means the full screen width ribbon across the top of the Word/Excel menu. There is no such thing that I see. I'm going to need a visual because the only red thing I see on the screen is the red "1" on the alarm bell and the red "X" on the server…

My list is short but deep: * I want networking and security to be included in decisions from the beginning instead of getting "it's slow" and "I need this firewall port opened" the afternoon of implementation. * I want Java to die a quick BUT painful death for all the misery it has caused me with Cisco ASDM & so many other…
