It's free money essentially. Just keep plugging away.

Ok. I must have never noticed then. Thanks for the reply!

I agree with your thoughts zackm. At one point, we had netflow data configured on both our WAN edge routers and remote office routers. It didn't make sense to have duplicated data like you mentioned so we stuck with leaving it on the WAN edge routers only. They had more resources anyway.

Thank you for confirming the model and sharing the photos. I'd actually prefer them without the SW branding (no offense), but it's not a deal breaker especially if I'm getting them with points and not $$$. I like that they have the option for bluetooth as well as wired. P.S. cute pup, what breed?

As someone learning more about virtualization and storage, this was great to read. I love the format and the illustrations are great. They really enforced what you were trying to convey. Thanks a lot for this.

Not sure if anyone else agrees but the orange text on green background in the questions table is a little difficult to see. I do know that the theme of the website includes those colors so I understand why they were used.

I don't think it is. It's a new feature so maybe there are some unidentified "features" aka bugs that we aren't aware of. Hopefully someone sees this and takes a look.

I think the way the answer hint is formatted, it is a little misleading based on the actual answer, but the answer is definitely in the hint. I trusted my instincts like the others and got it right.

Tom, I've got quite a few points that have not been applied from last month's contest and this month as well. I'm just assuming that it's going to take a little while to tally everyone's points and apply them. EDIT: After reading some comments under August's monthly mission, it looks like they hope to have all points…

I agree bspencer63, standardization is crucial when it comes to configuration management. It makes life easier from all perspectives, especially when troubleshooting. It's one of the first things I focus on when working on a new network. I want the configs to be clean and identical wherever possible.

That's amazing! Thank you for doing something like that for veterans in need. I know it must of hurt to let go. There's a reason I'm a dog lover, but refuse to get a dog. It hurts too much to deal with them passing away, etc. I had 2 die in some pretty bizarre scenarios as a kid and I just can't find it in me to go through…

I love the IOS vulnerability checker. They really need one for every flavor of OS they have... ASA OS, AireOS, NX-OS, etc.

Thanks blsanner this helped! Regards, Keith

So it seems to me that I have a lot in common with my peers... Stability and ease of implementation are very important among some other things like reporting and cost. From all the products I've used, SolarWinds has definitely been the easiest to implement and the most stable if you feed and take care of it properly. What…

Thanks for your reply!

I am a network admin/engineer by trade, but when I came to my current company I was put in charge of a EMC Avamar/Data Domain backup and recovery implementation. I have backups setup on our most critical SQL servers (a cluster) because I knew about it. However, I know there are more servers with more DBs out there that…

Probably the most important part you How could I forget?!

Looks good on my end as well. Thanks a lot maria.bungau and DanielleH

If it was between style and saving money on gas to spend it on other more interesting and fulfilling things, I'd choose saving money all day. Luckily I was able to compromise slightly by buying a Mazda3 which looks good in my opinion and gets me 35.3 MPG combined.

Play from home?

I agree deverts. I've always felt I've learned more about a new network I'm managing by going through manually and drawing it out on paper as I go. It beats someone trying to explain it and viewing a Visio that may or may not be up to date. I can definitely see the argument for using an automated process for verification…

Agreed, but the time/work spent isn't comparable to what you have to do in the real world to earn a similar amount in my opinion. Glad you enjoy it though.

Great news indeed! I haven't had a reason to buy anything since the backpack so maybe some new items will peak my interest. Thanks for putting in all the hard work!

Several folks are seeing this issue, including myself. It was brought up here as well: Wireless Heat Map

Yep, that's exactly what I was referring to and it's bitten me a few times as well. You end up spending an inordinate amount of time reverse engineering someone's changes and trying to think like them. It sucks.

Will not upgrade until AT LEAST .1 or .2 release. I run into enough bugs, so I don't need any additional stress by being bleeding edge and running into .0 release bugs. Looks like a solid release though.

ICMP is not stateful. You may need to allow ICMP time-exceeded and unreachables from outside (network devices on Internet) to inside (NetPath probe) in order for ICMP traffic like traceroute to work.

Sorry for the late reply, we used the local admin account.

Sorry to keep advertising their site, but Netbeez ran some tests on Wi-Fi performance that might help: https://netbeez.net/2016/06/01/iperf-wifi-comparison-on-raspberry-pi-raspberry-pi-3-vs-asus-vs-hawking-vs-linksys-vs-tp-link/ And just to clarify, I have no affiliation with them!
