You can run NCM on the same server as Orion 8.5 You do not have to uninstall Cirrus before upgrading to NCM, just install on top of the old version.

So I thought this was a configuration of the service itself. When looking at the SW services they are all configured with Recovery options of Restart Service and 0 reset fail count and 0 restart service. After modifying each service with a recovery option of take no action and 1 day reset fail count. When I stop the…

Disregard, as I found the answer to my own question through trial and error. Not knowing enough about advanced alerts I jumped before digging a little deeper. The answer lies in your trigger condition. Apparently, the results of the trigger actions refer back to the trigger condition info for your results and output of…

If it helps the next guy with this issue we had to recreate a new sftp folder. Apparently, the hundreds of thousands of files stored in the sftp folder were not seen after upgrading. We created a new folder and VNQM worked.

Ok, so I just completed the survey of what I want to see in the new version of Cirrus, but left one thing out. IN the node list you can set Cirrus to monitor Nodes, but the problem with that is when I enable it on 879 devices it takes a realy long time to do anything in Cirrus after its enabled. What I would like to see is…

So support finally got back to me and resolved my problem. Now all interfaces are showing the netflow data for the interface, to include the CBQos were it applies. To show the data in the interface details we did the following. Customize Page, Add + resources, added the below items from the Netflow Interface Resources, we…

Are there any plans to improve visibility of Lightweight AP's? It would be nice to have similar features like the Autonomous AP.

What was the fix for this? I am having the same issue.

You may want to see how you added you cat into Orion. We have 4 Cats in our Organization, and are able to monitor Gig interfaces, etherchannels, vlans, etc, so you should be able to do the same thing. Check out your Cat in Net Perf Mon and see if you have it added correctly.

Gstrand, For smart net you should only need th model and serial number. If you have all of your nodes in Cirrus, you can easily run an inventory on your equipment then use the built in reports that Cirrus has. I recommend you use the Cisco Chassis IDS report. You can get to this report by going to Reports, select view…

This is an old post, but I figured this information was still relevant. I created this post back in the day. Bret

MithrilHall, That worked real well, I should have known to try it that way, but the thought never came to me. Thanks for the help, its nice to know you can come to the forums to get questions answered, without having to rely on the Solarwinds help desk, which these days has not been to good.

I just noticed this happened to me as well, since upgrading to the new version. Things that make you say Hmmmmm. Bret

In order for the report to be accurate you must run an inventory, like pyro13g suggested. Im running 7.2.2, so not sure if other versions are different, but once the inventory is complete go to Reports> View reports, then chose Physical Entities> Physical Entities (Serial Number) v2. After running this report it incuded…

I have the same situation. Im trying to setup backups for Cisco ISE to Solarwinds SFTP and need to add a key to SFTP.

You got the first and hardest part done by identifying the OID. To set alerts for the status change on the power supply you will need to create an alert. Create an alert for the status change of the power supply using your UnDP. When creating the alert in the trigger condition tab there is a drop down for type of property…

Never mind I found my problem. It appears that there was a couple corrupt rows in the db table. Once I removed the corrupt rows the problem went away.

Thanks guys. This is something that was working then stopped. Its not fully broke its just not working for up triggers and they are basic active alerts. Down subject Alert: ${NodeName} Down message Address ${IP} has stopped responding to pings. Reset subject Reset: ${NodeName} Up message Address ${IP} has resumed…

Yeah did a rediscover as well - still did not work. Apparently, from what SW support says the service needs to be restarted. After doing this my name was changed. If you do not want to stop the service you can go into the tables and make the changes your self. Hopefully, this helps someone in the future. Bret
