You know if you just hit the 24H button on the graph...it would have saved everyone time
-
Close your eyes and click submit, open them, woo hoo!

So I encountered this issue this weekend, and I want to read the link presented, but when I click on it I can't get to it...my SW customer ID and password do not work, what am I missing??

Truncating any large tables is the best way to go in our experience...although the Maintenance job should be taking care of the cleanup for you on a nightly basis...have you confirmed that it is running properly every night? Jason

Funny, when I came into this project I had that same question...the biggest benefit is administration and operating system cost...getting 3 for 1 out of a MS 20xx host is more efficient when you consider using 10 hosts over 30..also when it comes to # of elements an install can handle, the relationship is linear to your…

Oh gotcha...We don't have SAM so yeah definitely seems like your culprit
-
Theres a hotfix you may want to install for NPM..I know it specifically addresses NetPath issues
-
You can use an F5 to forward to a pool as well, that way you can have whatever pool members you want listening, with one destination in the config of your devices
-
Architecturally that should work...we have APEs in 4 different global regions, but we do not have those APEs part of the F5 pool, only the APEs in Chicago The traffic has to traverse the WAN regardless to get to the NTA database, so Im thinking there may not be any bandwidth savings I think we'll be revisiting our…

Yes...do not use SNAT...that way the source will not be changed
-
Yes for each one
-
I meant to say not using 2016 servers sorry
-
Sounds like it would not effect you
-
It doesn't matter...the connection between the app and db was broken by something like a link or switch failure...the of course connection needs to be reestablished and metadata reloaded...if a restart has not been attempted it should be the first thing to try
-
I would say to be safe you should bring down all services, but I couldn't foresee any issue with them being up...once that main poller went down the additional pollers would lose their master so it probably wouldnt matter...the data would just not get polled...polling is a pull whereas NTA is a push from the node...and…
-
The load on your Switch/Router should be minimal...you can do some testing with a before and after check by changing the polling to 1 minute on only a single device first. The biggest load within NPM will also be when you poll the interfaces more than the node as well...these are 2 separate settings within the tool Does…

We do this exact process using an NCM job that executes a script off of one of our jumphosts 1. We create a job that selects our jumphost specifically 2. NCM connects to the host and executes a shell script on the host (using a special user outside of normal NCM users so it can access certain files and execute scripts) 3.…

But what about v9...can you confirm your device is receiving v5 or v9? The 2 results Ive seen so far are using v5 successfully. Thx J
-
Any way you can share the solution so we can ask support if we are seeing the same thing?
-
What is a NAM license? I only have APE licenses and the syslog and snmp services are not installed on the APEs To me this looks to be deprecated on APEs in 2019.4, which to us is bad, we have our APEs used as syslog and trap receivers as part of a VIP
-
FYI...even though the account is local on the F5 it still auths through AD Best to create an AD account and use the same one for NCM and iControl IMO
-
I like this write up and diagram We're currently in the process of re-designing our system and really need to improve performance...we are also using the common C drive D drive layout you were...how did the new drive layout increase performance? You running a physical DB server? Size? Are you running the NTA database on…

A step in the right direction still has some value...Application certifications may not have that value you would get in any of the more major areas such as Cisco certs, but there is nothing wrong with trying to develop some credibility to any skill Having a price on it allows them to start giving it some validity, and I…

A stacked APE (Additional Polling Engine) is a feature that SolarWinds has where you can install up to 3 instances of the modules on one host...It is an efficient way to basically have 3 servers in 1...since each polling engine can handle ~10,000 elements per installation, this fundamentally triples the hosts efficiency.…

When I did this install on new a application server MS2019 hardware in my QA environment, I did not get an "option" to install this or not, do you happen to have a screen shot from where you choose the option? I am wondering if it only gives you the option on an upgrade on existing hardware?? Am I missing something?
-
Which process have you been terminating?
-
The odd thing is, I am receiving successful NetFlow from the device as a whole and on the interfaces...I'm obviously working with our Network Engineering team as well...would it still process the flows without the correct interface ID?
-
What port are you hitting?

I know this is an old thread but we are seeing the same error...did you ever get to resolve this? We installed the toolset integration during last upgrade to 12.2 and started noticing more slowness on the page and this error is the only error on the page. @jrob
