You could change the default chart to a Min/Max/Avg chart. I had to do that for our 10Gig links in the Data Center

Is there a way to just show the currently down devices with this SWQL?

The "cheapest" way to do this would be to press and hold the Shift key when you press the Search button.

You can search by interface descriptions, its called Interface Alias in the drop down box for Search for Interface. You will have to add it to a view.

David, Are you running native SQL maintinence, instead of using the Database Manager from the Orion server?

Node availability is determined by ICMP (ping) and Stats are gathered by SNMP, so if the NPM can ping it and says that its up but your not getting statistics from it then its an SNMP access issue... Here are some things to check: Are there any SNMP ACLs on the remote node? Are there any Firewalls in the path to the remote…

I haven't seen one that could be deployed to clients... this makes me think of a feature request that goes something like this: A web interface for Report Writer that has Top level drop down boxes, that get progressively deeper into the tables similar to what is in the Advanced Alert build process, with the possibly of…

It's not that difficult to do, but you should ensure you have a valid backup of your database first... Stop all of your polling engines, then on the Orion server - open the Orion Database Manager, drill down to your database and select the Nodes table. Right click on the Nodes table and select Query, then change it to…

There are several way to get this done, here is one of the quickest: Launch the Syslog Viewer on the Orion server. Under Alert / Filter Rule create a new rule, name it Syslog Log, on the Alert Actions Tab add an action to Log the Message to a file (don't forget to create the empty file, and make sure the destination disk…
