Let's talk about what further compatibility issues you see in the beta forum. I'll pull in the other PMs as needed! jreves

I'm not sure exactly where you are encountering this; that specific URL should return a 404 error by design. Can you open a support ticket to allow a Support Engineer to work with you directly?

And this is now available in General Release as NTA version 4.5! You can check out the Release Notes, download the new release on the Customer Portal, and get all the help they need with the upgrade at the Success Center. joer

Does this help? https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NTA-Documents/Introducing-the-NTA-2020-2-Release-Candidate-IPAM-IP-Group/ta-p/590017 We do also have an "import" facility. @"jreves"

Zahid, If you're a current NTA customer you can evaluate our beta release now! Visit this posting NTA Beta1 Release Available! - and follow the link to sign up for the beta. Post in the beta forum with your experiences, and let us know what you think about this feature! jreves

If you voted for this feature: It's available now as an NTA Release Candidate! Head over to the NTA Release Candidate forum, and check out the details here: NetFlow Traffic Analyzer Release Candidate Let us know in that forum what you think, and how you're using this feature to alert on flow traffic in your network! joer

It seems like this is information we would want to tie to path information - RTP conversations between endpoints, with detailed call (conversation) metrics, over a specific path. Perhaps this is something we could tie together in Orion Maps. I'll have a chat with jblankjblank

Rick, are you not yet signed up for the NTA beta that's active right now? Check it out! jreves

Absolutely, Rick! It's probably worth a chat with cobrien to make sure we understand the full scope of what's needed, as well. jreves

I'm going to leave this open to focus on "self-health" alerting for the NTA platform. In the NTA 4.5 release, we did add an alert for the loss of flow data from a flow source. But I believe there's a brader case for self-health features like the one called out here (loss of connectivity to the SQL DB) that we should…

David, The steps for migrating the older NTA flow storage database can be found in this KB: Migrate the NTA Flow Storage database to a new remote server Have a look through that, and let me know if you have any questions - jreves

What are the specific tasks - workflows, and capabilities - that you need to support your SD-WAN deployments? Beyond monitoring discrete elements - availability, health metrics, device performance - what are the kinds of management capabilities that you expect to see from Orion? What are some of the tasks you need to…

This is the use case that the NTA Top Talkers alerts was designed for. Can you talk a little more about the shortcomings you see with this alert, and the behavior you would prefer? We have new application flow volume based alerting for high or low volumes. Also, alerting for presence / absence from the TopN, and an alert…

Have a look at: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NTA-Documents/Introducing-the-NTA-2020-2-Release-Candidate-IPAM-IP-Group/ta-p/590017 We've implemented NTA alerts for endpoints and IP groups; I think this will work for you with multicast ranges and endpoints. @"jreves"
-
Do you have SAM available? The simple solution would be to monitor the service with SAM. An alternative would be a custom query on the state of the NetFlow service. jreves

We're working on it ;-)

This one was written by Gene Ziegler, in 1994. It's part of a larger work called, "A Grandchild's Guide to Using Grandpa's Computer" and you can view the complete work here: Grandpa's Guide

Your Orion database and all of it's data is seamlessly migrated. The flow data - which, in NTA release 4.2.3 and prior - was kept in it's own FastBit database instance - is not migrated. So, when you move from NTA 4.2.3 to NTA 4.4, we build a new SQL flow storage database which is dedicated to flow records - and we do not…

rschroeder, wake up! It's NTA Beta Time! NTA Beta1 Release Available! c'mon over and check it out! jreves

We have taken a initial pass at alerts for NTA! We have volume based alerts by application for exceeded thresholds - both high, and low. We also have alerts for applications that appear, or drop from the TopN for more rapid or abrupt changes, and an alert for a source of flow that stops sending flow data. It's a first…

Haiku is easy Doesn’t take much time to write Contemplate NetFlow

Partially implemented; the CIDR notation for IP Group authoring within NTA was implemented. There's still an open request for nested IP groups, and the logic to evaluate those.
-
How are you characterizing performance, relative to MPLS? Are you using any kind of active measurements, looking at metrics from FortiOS, or something else..? I'm assuming the the flexibility you're getting has to do with being able to role out configuration changes faster/easier, or at a broader scale - is that correct?…
