We currently have a remote poller on the end of our WAN link this was more for accurate stats rather than load. When we first put them in, our Main poller was only polling 4000 elements and now it's up to 8000 and running well and our remote poller was originally running around 2000 elements and now its up to 3500. the poll time by default is set to 10 minutes, I dropped mine down to 1 minute and once the first poll had completed put them up to 10 minutes.

We have a similar setup using 3COM switch in a stack with a single management address when I add that management address I get a list of all the switches in the stack and it will monitor and report on any of those switches even though they are slaves of the primary in the stack. Just found this on download.com Tftpd32 3.03 it allows the selection of your NIC card unfortunately it's not a service but it allows me to TFTP without going through the pains of disabling and enabling NIC's and it will allow you to fix a NIC in the settings so you don't need to choose each time.
