Up about 3, nearly 4 days now, without this problem. But I have turned off the two sliders in Application Connection Settings - couldn't get it to work at all - but does work on my test system. Removed the Application Dependency parts from the application and node views. I also turned off most VMAN recommendations.…

Does that include making sure KB4103720 is on the SQL server ? Presumably not as comms with the SQL server should just be port 1433, and in my case it's just the regular local SQL username/password. Also, I did notice BusinessLayer was 16GB ! of memory - I had no idea it could even go that high.

Not sending email on the alerts We have this, restart Alerting Services and Information Store - but the problem is with the Information Store. Solarwinds engineer originally restarted only the Alerting services - no change. Once Information Store was restarted that fixed it. But I think there is a problem where Information…

Can I upgrade, get the VMware events, keep Syslog/traps as they are? No VMware events will install Orion Log Viewer free edition and rules that you have will not be imported in. ^ still a bit confused. We have traps and syslog events going to SolarWinds. So does this mean the Free edition of Orion Log Viewer allows us to…

I'm thinking compensation is now due as this has been doing on for far too long. It is totally unacceptable to use us as beta-testers on production systems, when we get the flak. A free copy of the Engineer's Toolset might be acceptable for all the hard graft and effort and sleepless nights we're endured. Solarwinds is a…

HTML in 2020.2.1 has been disabled due to a security issue, this seems to affect Alerts, but is confirmed as disabled for script monitors. "HTML formatting is no longer supported for scripts monitor due to some security reasons HTML formatting is under feature request to restore in a better way." - from support.

I haven't upgraded to 2020.2.1 yet, so I don't know about the HTML formatting, but I wanted to ask if everything went smoothly with the upgrade. I'm assuming you upgraded from 2020.2. Was it ok? No gotchas? I can see on my test system (2020.2.1) if I look at the alert "AppInsight for SQL: Alert me when my database file is…

Cortex Plug-in Load Failed Plug-in failed to start after 1 attempts. » Reinstall plug-in2.0.0.6393 In addition to the above, thought I would just share that I saw few dozen agents with Plug-in errors - I clicked re-install a few times and that seemed to sort it - except for the Linux boxes - I will probably update those…

Just remembered, I had sent it somebody a while back https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/SAM-Discussions/SolarWinds-agent-utilizing-high-CPU-after-application-upgrade-to/td-p/291111

My SolarWindsOrionLog database has grown to 112GB whilst I wasn't watching. I have opened a case as I suspect maitenance isn't working. Orion Platform 2018.4 HF3, NCM 7.9, NPM 12.4, LM 2.0, NTA 4.5.0, VMAN 8.4.0, SAM 6.8.0, NetPath 1.1.4 Currently a little behind, but I could spot a fix for this in the release notes.…

I've decided I'm going to have a go. From what I have learned much of the VIM data is already in the Solarwinds database - it has been fed in over time. The new polling is streamlined so should be more efficient. I'm already running on a physical machine with 24 cores and 72gb ram, so performance is fairly good.

It's worth mentioning that all our DNS/DHCP is Windows AD based.

I can see that you can call another script using Invoke-Command, and that can pass back information - in this case I just want the XML output passed back. I don't know if the Powershell script which is invoked is running as v5 (using .Net Framework 3.5 or better) yet, but the below is a prototype for testing; script1.ps1…

Ok, found it. There is a new search feature, and the old one appears to only show a few standard items and has a long list of our Custom Properties. So I can find it, but I must have missed this new way of searching. I don't remember reading about it in the release notes.

maanged to solve my own problem. You create an Application in Azure with a secret key, my problem was I gave the AD Solarwinds account access to each subscription, but it's the Application you need to give permissions (contributor min). All working now, and looking grand.

Edit the alert and insert Volume ${N=SwisEntity;M=DeviceId} Below is the standard built-in alert, modified to add this at the bottom. You get the volume letter. Volume PRFS01A-C:\ Label: 7CE23300: Total size 19.5 G Free space 4.5 G Percent used 77 % Volume C: However, if you have Mount Points, the results are less helpful;…
