That brings up a great point. When deleting DHCP Servers (which I did once and will never attempt again), there should be a more appropriate warning "WARNING you are about to spend long and seemingly endless days fixing the mess you are about to make".

Hey MarieB - I've stated 3x (including now) when Mark W's KB article is working on my installation, I will verify the answer. Have a nice day, Jon

Thanks for the offer Mav, but I wouldn't be able to integrate an RC into production. I am about 75% through implementing our 70,000 IP, 2000 something subnets, and 6 sets pages of regionally kept IP spreadsheet. At this point IP Scan freezing is important but on the grand scheme of things overall is pretty low on my…

That's great, but I am the author of the thread, and when it is verified by me then I will mark the answer as verified. Good customer service generally consists of verifying with the customer if their problem is resolved before closing a ticket (in this case the thread).

Sounds like I need to get all the kids registered, my mammy, Uncle Bob and Billy, my neighbors, and request features I am interested in.....
-
This works great thank you and glad to see duplicate detection implemented within IPAM 2.0. I was delayed for about a week because of database issues, I wasn't able to delete any subnets, thus preventing me from trying out the KB article. J

Mark, I will verify the answer once it is working on my installation. Jon

Hi Marie - Same as always. It's a bug and we "promise to fix it or enhance it sometime". Solarwinds is far too delayed releasing bug fixes. I am starting to believe that IPAM development is one PM in Austin and one coder somewhere in Bangladesh.

Unfortunately, our scan's locked up again, with scan times as high as 7 days and without subnets in queue...

The developmental cycle for NCM is far from perfect and I am not the only one that has expressed that frustration. Searching this forum for "feature requests" of 2007 / 2008 affirms that. Deployment & maintaining in an enterprise environment is more work than it should be. This is the NCM forum, 10.1 does not apply here.
-
Hi - this would be a fantastic feature to have for our BigIP's.! I see a lot of feature requests from users. How many are in your tracking system and what percentage is actually being actively worked?
-
To ask an Enterprise customer with thousands of NCM managed devices to break out a spreadsheet is less than ideal. I know this situation is a love / hate feature and working through it is difficult. In reality, the NCM admin should have read write access to these devices and be trusted like a domain admin within the…

That's great news, thank you. On a side note, what is up with everyone but the author of a post marking an answer as verified?
-
Mav - now that I have upgraded to version 2, what was really achieved for Duplicate Subnet Elimination besides not letting them be created? The issue with split DHCP scopes, was that even addressed?
-
We achieved great results by changing subnet scan times from hours to days. Now no more than 50 subnets are in "queue" as before we would have 1500. Before the change the scans would freeze every few days (there would be 50 pages of subnets in "queue") while we now have not had a freeze in two weeks. Jonathan

I am happy to report that after working with F5 and SW (Destiny & Francois) that our F5 ARX are now being backed up (running and global config).
-
Roman - Thanks for the script. Our NPM Administrator and SQL DBA ran the script and the first time it reported back with 1 dhcp scope which then I deleted. The script was then run again and this time no scope's were displayed. I am still receiving this error when I attempt to scan a dhcp server. I opened SW ticket # 188951…

We experience this issue also. Is it possible that there is too many subnets in "queue"? Jonathan
-
Yes, the Web UI. Any speed improvements in the next release would be welcome, thank you.

I have turned off node monitoring temporarily, but frankly its a feature I wish to keep. I've reduced the parameters to minimal discovery (status every 8 hours, 15 polls per second, rediscover every 18 hours.) I really didn't see much difference enabled or disabled. Moving the database definitely helped with script pushes…

I don't see how this feed back is well timed. I gave similar 18 months ago and still waiting. NCM needs to discover / import based off a list of snmp strings and if one fails try another. Product Managers at SW consistently "jot down feature requests" then rotate to another product leaving behind disgruntled users wanting…
-
Hi, I experience the same issue. Each time logging into the NCM website, there is a 1-2 minute delay. Nothing wrong with server performance, I even moved NCM to another server and ditto results. Jonathan

Hi, one nice feature request (nice for me) is to be able to report easily on devices added and deleted out of NCM. For large organizations the number within NCM is probably changing frequently. My second request would be duplication checking for identical hostnames. It’s possible that the same Layer 3 switch, for example,…

Ok, thanks, keep us in mind. Jonathan

Hi Peter, Brandon Shopp called and rescued my botched upgrade with a reinstall. All is working now. We were working on it till 6:30 and just now got a chance to update this forum. Jonathan
-
So you have given it a title, now working on the code? :-)
-
Access to NCM should be guarded anyways and troubleshooting without this is difficult. I ask that this return.

If someone such as me or another user with 500+ scopes over multiple dhcp servers, what is the process to easily identify and remove dhcp scopes from IPAM that have been deleted from the dhcp server?
-
Marie is awfully quick on that "suggested answer" trigger.

Thank you. A status indicator would be nice also. Thank you, Jonathan
