At the very least, I can delete quite a few of old ones I no longer need. That shouldn't cause any issues would it?

Hi guys, I have been using the "only save configs that have changed" for about a month or so now. Checking my backup files, it is saving a new copy every time, even when they are exactly the same. Is there something that I am missing here?
-
I have ordered the web license. The anticipation is building.
-
Hey, that sounds like good news! I am still running 2015.1.2 and 11.5.2 so I will also update those. I am moving forward with adding a web server also.
-
Domain Group Policy prevents me from trying this workaround.
-
Thanks for the license info. The db server is fine - unlike the polling server, it was really beefed up.

Yea, that's what I was thinking... but the Node Alert details page is always there no matter what. Also, recently I have had more Interface Alert pages that are coming up fine even days after. So, now there is no correlation to what is a good link and what is not. Regardless, what variables would I need to link to an event?
-
I will reach out to them unless I hear something on here shortly. Calling support always feels like a failure - haha

hard to answer this one. We have alerts down pat. We are constantly trying to improve our dashboards. Predictive capabilities would be a lacking area I would expect to be growing in Orion sooner rather than later.
-
Still hoping for an update on this. Has anybody else done this? Thanks!
-
Very helpful post. Simple instructions, with detailed explanation of cause purpose. That's win-win. GoldTipu Thanks!

So, i just want to be clear here. The default Orion Pollers don't work properly with these devices. We're just adding a custom poller using the Cisco provided OID?

I heart Falcon!

Sign me up for this one.

NPM user here. I'm evaluating SAM for a large enterprise deployment. I had some issues with creating server group dashboards but finally got around it. Now, I am trying to build alerts and this is practically(if not) a deal-breaker. I am sad and aghast.

I HAD the same question.

I'll post this document here for future reference and if anybody comes across this same question. Setting Up Network Devices to Export NetFlow Data http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/netflow/content/orionnetflowagsettingnetflow.htm

Well, unmanaged and gave the device a 169.254.x.x ip address and renamed it to x_OLD. I had a duplicate add node window with the legit IP and all the info I needed. Then did them bang bang. It works good enough this way as far as I'm concerned. I just need to show two different reports to the powers that be.

The majority of these were remote devices. Eventually I tried them from my old polling server and it worked. I had to have the remote teams allow access from my new server's ip address. Not everybody reads all the emails Thanks for the help though!

I have the exact thing happening on my AWS. They show correctly when I browse to my main Orion server.

I can only speak for NPM, but: We are currently monitoring 15,000+ elements with 1 NPM server * 2x8‑Core Procs and 16GB RAM (no additional polling engines) with a dedicated SQL server having similar specs. Default polling interval of 2 minutes and performance is nearly ideal. I will provision some more RAM for this server…

Thanks for the input. I made the switch a while ago and it's been smooth sailing.
-
Thanks for the help. We have decided to hold off until we move NPM to a VM. Wait for version 11 then if it's close.

I was having the same trouble. Migrating servers I was left with a mixed 2012 and 2016 environment. UNEXPECTED WEBSITE ERROR The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://schemas.solarwinds.com/2008/Core:GetNodeWithOptionsResult.…

Has anyone run into any issues since updating your pollers?
-
Good tip. I'd like to think that I would have thought to do that. Chances are I would have thought of it too late.
-
How often do they update the mib database / how often do they manually add everything that people request there?

Today: (Currently, you have 15038 expired IP addresses) grr

Today: (Currently, you have 6778 expired IP addresses) SMH

mrxinu I changed the setting to "Never stop processing expired IP addresses" and I didn't notice an immediate change so I left it. After checking back two days later, I was up to 5333 expired IP addresses. I put back to "Custom number of minutes" and put in [120] Today I sit at 1087 expired IP addresses. This thing is not…
