Thanks for the reply aLTeReGo and the clarification. I was hoping that was the case. Do I need to allow port 445 through my firewall as well to make this work? I'm not using Patch Manager, only NPM and SAM.
-
So here is my question: Do I need to limit the RPC ports on the monitored server, the SolarWinds SAM server, or both?
-
This is a feature that AppDynamics and NewRelic have as well. It would be wonderful to have this detailed data in WPM.
-
Thanks for this information aLTeReGo. This solution will work very well for one of our primary DB servers so once the 6.0.1 release is officially released (i.e. non-RC) we will get this installed.
-
I too would like the export to Excel feature integrated into the Reports view. The workaround is great but I've been getting requests from management to receive some of the metrics in CSV or Excel format instead of PDF. For now I have to do this manually.
-
Ok thanks aLTeReGo.
-
Unfortunately no. You are correct the that drop down only goes up to 1 day, but you can choose the relative time period and ramp up to 7 days or more. Problem is that this time period only applied to the Summary tab - not the Queries tab. Anything on the queries tab only shows the last hour.
-
Having this capability will tremendously help our organization as well. I've submitted my vote for this feature.
-
Rob, Thanks for that information. The "custom table \ custom chart" feature in the 10.7 beta is one of the things I need.
-
I am really looking forward to the 6.2 release. So thanks for sharing this info Alterego. Here is an interesting question: Can the agent be deployed with group policy and be used to discover Windows servers\workstations on a domain in place of using "Network Sonar Discovery" network scans? What I mean is, can we deploy the…

ctmidnight oh trust me I hear you there I've been burned by MS as well (most of us have). We are still in the process of testing our SCOM 2012 R2 in our environment and I am still highly critical of it's so-called dashboard and monitoring capabilities --- Personally I am not impressed (not yet anyway). I don't have the…
-
Yes, I agree with this as well. This is a feature sorely needed in Orion. One of the reasons why our organization is looking at implementing Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2 is because of it's design for scaling the monitoring environment up or scaling it sideways - SCOM uses the concept of a "Management…

Thank you aLTeReGo for this solution.

For one, I would prefer to have the ability to select the amount of time. For some of our database servers we would like to show the last 24 hours. For others, we would like a summary of the top 10 most expensive queries for the last 7 days.
-
I definitely want this feature as well. Here are my reasons: * Our IT Security team does NOT want non-sys admins having RDP access to servers. The reasons have to do with several compliance types my organization must abide by. Being able to install and use the Report Writer on my domain workstation to build custom reports…

Only supporting Internet Explorer in WPM is a serious problem. There is still only IEv10 and IEv11 support in WPM v2.2. Microsoft will be retiring IE soon after Project Spartan is RTM'ed so multiple browser support needs to come quickly. *** A comment: We are still considering SeleniumHQ for web transaction monitoring…
-
Yeah this is NOT cool at all. We definitely need an option to omit the NetPath or QoE features when deploying agents somehow so that WinPCap isn't installed.
-
This is something that our DBA's would like as well.
-
Excellent. I hope that ends up being the fix for your case. In our organization, we reboot our web servers every morning around 5am. So in order to suppress the app alerts, we have alert suppression from 5am to 6am for our IIS App Pools every single day. **I am hoping that one of the next versions of SAM will have…

FYI This issue is now resolved. I requested to close the support ticket. The Fix = Downloading and manually running the NPM APE installation resolved our issue. All network interfaces on the servers are now discovered and monitored in our instance. Root cause = The "large" bundle APE installer did not automatically install…
-
Understood. Thanks Malik!
-
One way you can stop the alerts from happening in the early morning hours is to define suppression in the alert rule. Will that work for you?
-
aLTeReGo, No I don't think it is silly at all! The explanation makes sense. Instead of installing all of the separate NPM or SAM bits we just used the 'large' APE installer - specifically this version: SolarWinds-Orion-AdditionalPoller-2015.09.22-b184.zip This may not be necessary, but I'll include this info just in case.…
-
aLTeReGo and xtraspecialj, My apologies for not following up on this thread! I'll do my best to remember the details as this issue was something we dealt with about 8 months ago... Yes the issue is now resolved. TL;DR - We believe the issue was something to do with the local self-signed "SolarWinds-Orion" cert on the…
-
Interesting that you are able to delete without a problem. Perhaps you were able to delete because you didn't have the property as a condition in any alerting rules or logical groups? I've always had a problem trying to delete/remove custom properties in my environment because they are inner-twinned throughout our…
-
Done. That did it. Creating a group for the IIS app pools, then creating a dependency resolved the issue. Thanks!
-
Support case # 913141 was opened for this. The diagnostic file from our primary poller was uploaded to Leapfile. Thanks for your help Malik!
-
Ok sounds good. I'll upload the diagnostics now...
-
I agree with ShadowLawz, this report is exactly what I needed as well. Good work LadaVarga! Thanks for sharing!

@muckman, I am disappointed to hear that the problem persists in SAM 6.2.4. Very strange problem indeed. To answer your question no we never did find a resolution for this. We will continue with our workaround to the problem by selecting "agentless" mode for the SAM template.
