@"trilobite_rex" Here's a 3 part series with a good walk through: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Product-Blog/Intro-to-API-SDK-SWQL/ba-p/506794 The SDK on Github has a Wiki, and lots of good info, specfically check out the SWQL functions: https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/wiki/SWQL-Functions And remember that is…

Or a small BASH script in this case

John you are right that the SQL schema changes, likely every upgrade. The SWQL should not change between upgrades if you continue using the the same version (today likely v2 or v3). You might get new things (columns, views, etc) added, but that shouldn't break queries since SWQL won't let you do wildcards in queries. I…

@"mesverrum" wrote:All of those widgets are related to the QoE feature, do you use that on these netops devices? If no then that explains why there's no data. https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/QoE-DPI Ah good point, is that data there for other users or just not the Netops user?

I'd love to see the full set up that you have to monitor Citrix. I will be working with our XenApp and XenDesktop Engineers next month to bring monitoring into Orion.
-
I applied 7.8 HF1 last night. One of my back up jobs went from 20 hours to 20 minutes. This is a must have update.
-
What are the device types? I think we need to check to make sure that the SNMP communities are readable. Take a look at: Success Center (SNMP Walk tool guide ) For cisco routers routers, maybe look at How to configure snmp on a cisco 2900 switch (post on setting up SNMP on cisco device) For linux look at: Success Center…

I think that is the full error, but obviously we don't have the full script. Do we know that the credentials for the $swis connection have rights? Also KMSigma helped with a similar error on an unmnage action, maybe that gives a clue. Invoke-SwisVerb: Access to Orion.Nodes.Unmanage verb denied.

Fantastic, I appreciate it.

@mj83 and I talked via PM and this wasn't an IPAM based alert, it was a version for the SAM template for the DHCP. He added exclusion to the windows event and this stopped the "noise" from teh alerts, but continues to alert on other scopes.
-
It happened to me too, it definitely was related to high load right after the upgrade, and it settled down in a few minutes and I was back to normal.
-
FYI I can update custom properties via powershell, and the rights match rights in the web console. I am not sure what other properties you were referring to
-
I can wait for the Hotfix to be posted for general public, but we are seeing this too.
-
SRM is the way to go since it talks to the Pure API.

Reinstalling the Main polling engine is actually not that drastic. Your data lives in the database and will be there after the reinstall. Typically they have a script that does a very good job of removing Orion, and the reinstall is like a fresh start. If you ahve customized pages and template maybe you lose that, but very…

I understand where you are coming from, but to wrap my mind around this; what's your environment like? How many nodes and elements are you watching? Do the alerts get emailed, or just end up in an actual report? Do you have some one reacting to each alert appropriately? Are they routed to the correct people, or broadcast?…
-
Where can I pull that from via SWIS variables for reports?
-
So if you don't have Vman, the IVIM data shouldn't be populated by anything. Are you looking to replace that somehow? Some of it you can get using SNMP custom pollers, but that can be a big DIY project. Here's the docs on what they provide, and you can likely get that Latency value, but you will have to work for it.…

This is very good advice

I think I lied, try this: SysName not like '*sql*' OR SysName not like "*node*" OR SysName not like "*db"
-
OK that helps. But If I am going in the wrong direction let me know. A few things come to mind, one the world maps in NPM/Orion will populate via either the location field pulled from SNMP or custom properties. See: Display the Worldwide Map of Orion nodes in the Orion Platform Right now I actually have an issue using…

I had not, I was clearly doing it the hard way. Thank you
-
The next hop is Time Warner's device, and its what I assume is the issue, or the cables to it, but he hasn't tried thing like checking cables since his numbers for "show int count err" don't match. I asked for the output of the commands below to see if I can see why things are different, or if anything else doesn't align…
-
Yup, that's it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Not sure how SAM was missed, but thanks
-
I did hit the poll now button, it appears to complete without error. I this morning I moved just one node with an app over to see if the same thing happens. Basically the page looks right, but stops updating, and eventually things graphed over time stop updating. I should be able to see the gap soon if it happens again.
-
I still see it too, I am on the latest version. I see that the scans are updating IP info so it hasn't been urgent for me, but its on my list to improve.
-
I won't argue that its not good, I can say that the reinstall did improve reliability, but its not completely eliminated. The reinstalls are not something we do frequently (though many product updates have us rerun the config wizard which can reinstall), we stop the services and recreate JobEngine35.sdf then restart them…

What Orion platform version are you on? When I installed Orion Platform 2018.2 HF4 there was a noticeable improvement.
-
We do, I have it in Prod today (Service now version Kingston and Orion 2018.2 hf6), and in Test and Dev service now we are running London. Basically the Solarwinds module from the Service now store got added and configured per documentation. On the Orion side I just added the instance name and provided the accounts. I have…

Out of the office and like to the DR data center? Is that what you are saying? I do have some work up there...
