Has the issues with logging in with User ID fixed???

Would love to see a virtual class for SAM. Any chance of that happening? The class I have taken in the past have been great. Keep up the good work.

This isn't replacing Thwack in any way, right?

Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall BreachedThis is nuts. A. Full. Year. Especially in today's world. How does this happen?

Thank you sans!! I am now able to download the XML file. Thank you very much for sharing this. It will be VERY helpful. All the best, John L.

All - I'm not able to see anything on the policy tab. Just receiving the message: "Cannot show policy data until configs have been downloaded....." They of course ARE already downloaded via scheduled backups. Still not not displaying anything on the policy tab. Any suggestions?
-
Awesome! Works perfectly! Thank you pparsaie. Much appreciated.
-
@sans - I am unable to download the XML file that you posted. Saying "unauthorized". Not sure if it's just me, or others having the same issue. John L.

I'm having the exact same issue. The URL reports as "down" via SW SAM. The other issue I have is that the base URL redirects out to akamai. John L.

itzferal Any luck? I'm having this exact issue. Not able to get the policy from my PA FWs to show. Been working with TAC support for ~3 weeks, and zero progress. Backups working fine (running ONLY). Device config backup XML has the wrong CLI commands, so don't expect those to work. Let me know if you found out how to get…

Running NCM 7.5.1 - EOL/EOS database is still woefully incorrect. Many, MANY Cisco items missing, or cannot be determined by the NCM algorithm. A simple 2911 router cannot be identified. How can we get this fixed? Thanks.

Should this tool be pulled from SW site? Customer portals? It's really not any good if it doesn't work with AD accounts and/or Cisco IDs.

Yes, but what do you do when email is unavailable due to an outage? It's hard to email an alert of any type if email (or Internet) is unavailable. We need to alert at the most basic level. SMS modem seems to be the best option without purchasing a POTS line for analog/digital modem. Any suggestions on a preferred SMS modem…

I'm having this issue as well, but PA support states that NetFlow on sub interfaces is supported from v6.0 and above. Here is the link. I'm running v6.0.9, and NTA v4.1.2, and I cannot choose my sub interfaces in NTA, only the physical. John L.

jpr7311 Do you have specified OIDs that you have used for 'specific' error/discards using UnDP? I'm trying to do this for some of my devices, as the 'general' error/discards are not too descriptive. Thanks!
-
Thank you Andy! This was exactly what I was looking for. Couldn't find it on Thwack. Didn't even think to check SW site. Really appreciate it! John L.
-
jkrenzien sja - Thank you both for your suggestion on using the compliance policy. I never even thought about utilizing that functionality. Basically, I would like to 'search' multiple configuration files (backed up via NCM) for a specific SNMP string, and report back the configs that do NOT have that sting included.…

Thank you chmarx! I changed the setting from 24 hours down to 8 hours to see if that helps. I really appreciate the advice!! Best, John L.

Yes, I am as well. ciscoactiveadvisor.com works fine for me. This NCM "add on" does not. What gives Solarwinds?
-
This is exactly what I'm doing for my BGP adjacency changes as well. Works great. Simple and straight forward. It would be great if there was a "canned" alert in SW, but since it's been asked for since 2008 or earlier, I'm not thinking they are really rushing to get this done. Good'ol syslog to the rescue....

I'm not the exact same boat, but close enough. I have 'old' alerts that migrated to 11.5, but during this migration, I have a few alerts that lost some of their "objects". For example, I have an alert that is for interface up/down alerting (WAN links, Internet links, etc.). However, when I look at that alert now, there are…

gsmith@houseloan.com Worked like a charm!! I'm not going back and changing all my 'reset' alerts to include this. So much better!! Thanks again, John L.
-
Leon, Not sure, but could this be updated with the most recent SW tools and versions? Or, is this still valid? Thanks for the great work!!! John L.

What do you do with this file? How do you import it into SW? It's an XML file, but I see no way to import this into SW. UnDP doesn't read the file, nor does NPM. How is it used? Where? Please explain.
-
@aaswi Where would I apply these exclusions? I would really like to use the 'ignore crypto lines' and 'ignore certificate', but I'm not sure how or where to put these in. Thanks in advance, John L.

This post should be in the Solarwinds Hall of Fame! It's like a Solarwinds Bible. Thank you to all of the content providers of this information. Finally....

rschroeder Here I thought it was just me. Mine took 10+ hours to time out before telling me "oh, I failed." Really not good. SW - please address this issue.

What modem is recommended? Sending via email is obviously easy when email servers are up and accessible. The issue is when it's NOT available, and using an SMS modem is required. Which SMS modems are people using? Brands, versions, etc.?
