This makes me think I need to evaluate this product.

Interesting.

Too bad I missed it, sounds like it would have been a good one.

I thing I would agree with these results. We all suffer from alert fatigue!

But, my backhand is improving from all the Ping-Pong that is happening. But, I agree, this type of collaborative tool should improve time to resolution and improve cooperation between teams.

This is a good discussion.

We use YUM whenever possible in our environment but we only have about 12 linux systems. I will have to check the information provided as repository would be nice. I have done a lot of manual patching in my days as a HP-UX admin and I would definitely not recommend it.

Great article. I too agree with this 100%. With regards to the framework, this takes the most time but the end result is consistency. I have found in so many environments that they "think" they need security and "know" that it is important but they don't take the time to actually develop and embrace the framework. And as…

Interesting post.

We setup roles but I did not delve into the admin role. I agree it could be beneficial to have this enhancement.

No, I think those are a great listing of available tools. However, we really don't rely on any of those for patching where I work. We just have a sandbox to test WSUS patches in and then roll them to production as required by the applications.

This was a beneficial introduction to the DPI and it inspired me to look further into the subject matter. Thanks!
